I am placing this here, because I have received several responses from individuals stating that the Tournament sub-forum is not visible to people who do not actually "log-in" to the forums.

So in the interest of making sure that everyone knows what's going on, I will post updates on the tournament here, so that those people who cannot be bothered to log in, are not left feeling marginalized.

 

The "Bench The Bots" Community PvP Tournament kicks off this Thursday night at 9:00 PM, EDT (UTC-4)

 

The 4 teams who actually took the time to register are:

 

Team Boozers [WHAWK] - Any member with a WHAWK tag can participate

 

Team Wildfyre [DRACS] - Any member with a DRACS tag can participate; PLUS:  chemnut842, lawn_mowered_man

 

Team [SICK] - Any member with a SICK tag can participate; PLUS: Raxor_64, ger22, The_Iron_Toad

 

Team [FALCO] - Any member with a FALCO tag can participate

 

The tournament will be run in two stages: 1st Stage: Round Robin (to determine seeding for 2nd Stage);  2nd Stage: Double Elimination.

Are rosters set in stone?  I have players from other clans that now want to play.  Do they have to join SICK to do that, or can anyone just play?

We've always said, from the very beginning, that the more people who want to fly, the better.  

If a team has trouble filling out a team of 10 on any particular night, they are welcome to any and all comers to fill out their team.  

Please remember to give priority to those players who are actually registered....it's only fair, since they actually made the effort to register on time.

 

Team Captains should keep track of who is flying in each particular battle (screenshots are helpful), because only 14 people on each team (Team Captain's discretion) will be awarded prizing.

Remember, the official 14-man roster for prizing will be turned in to me at the end of the tournament, so that I can submit the rosters for prize disbursement.

My few members do not have aircraft to compete however, if there is some sort of stand-by...I would like to hang out and maybe fly....

My clan has been pretty dormant. would love to try and get them involved or at least fly myself.  I'll keep a watch for the next event(s)

Preliminary results from tonight's tournament matches.

Results will not be official until I receive Team score screenshots from the winning team captains, and update the challonge website.

 

DRACS - 3  FALCO - 0

WHAWK - 3  SICK - 1

 

Even with only four teams participating, we had a great turnout tonight, with several teams having plenty of reserve pilots on hand.

The Lighthouse Map is very small and low altitude, which made for some interesting matches with high-powered Tier 9 jets.

Things got a little wild and hairy.  Great fun was had by all.

Round Robin matches continue on Saturday.

Yes, Stage 2 Double Elimination will start on Sat June 3.

 

I want to keep pushing ahead with this so we can finish without interfering with PK's CCW.
