One thing I do miss and like about this line was the gondola 20s on the F/G models.

You wanna hear the truth? It's the liveliest line in the game; in the old times,

the tier 9 and tier 10 rule in game, with their much faster airspeed and almost identical

turn rate as me209a. ME209a is certainly strong, but I like the me-1092 better. Firepower,

along with supreme high-altitude performance is the strongest trait in this line.

the line has been nerfed several times: the bf109g outboard weapons are taken,

and the 20mm overheating on the tier 9 and 10 is nerfed. Even though, the tier 9 and

10 get further nerfed: their turn rate is greatly reduced, along with their airspeed.

You might think this line is doomed, No! the me1092 remains as one of the top 3, if not

the strongest planes in tier 9. This is a perfect example of german engineering, it's anti-Serb!

It kills all russian bias and that's the reason I am playing this game. Heil Messerschmitt !

How about "Jagdfliegerlied"?

I used it in a retro video from version 1.5   (a 6v6, Tier 3, 4, &5 that I waited for almost 5 minutes to get into)

late to the party but the line is great to play up until T9, at T9 it is a little slow and heavy with the top guns and hard to kill anything with the stock guns. it takes a little less know how to do reasonably well in the line, and still is imo the easiest line to learn.

Learning how to Boom N Zoom is huge, i suggest making sure you know the finer points of it in the game before hitting T5

I got the F a few days ago.......why?  It's a little underwhelming.

It no longer has the outboard 20mm gun pods option.

You do get 13.2mm machine guns to replace the now piddly 7.92mm as upgrade. Also, your hub 20mm is upgraded into the MG 151/20, the standard mid-high tier 20mm, quite better than the MG/FF you had been using the past two tiers. Get used to this 3-gun setup if you plan to go further, because you will be doing it for two more tiers.

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

It's definitely much better fully upgraded.

It is. If you aren't flying it right, then no amount of upgrades will help you. Definitely check out the links that noreaga posted.

It's worth it. Upgraded it's like flying a Yak-1M that's high altitude- not good outside of its altitude, low overall firepower, but great effective firepower.

With T6, 7, and 8 109/209s, youwill find you have some of the lowest average firepower. But because it's all in the nose, if you are accurate more firepower will hit the target than say a P-51, as that's all in the wings.

Honestly I think the Yak-1M is the best T6, but the 109F is amazing. My second most played plane (researched both the Z and G from it). Buuuuuut. T6 is something of a barrier. Your first T6 you won't excel in. Fights get far higher. BnZ becomes more important. Stuff like that.

The (not so) amazing Chokai is back! And he's hit all his personal goals sans one! Seriously though, nice to be back, looks like he game is improving. I continue to try to recruit new people.

The game changes at various tiers. T1-3 is mostly just turn and burn with a few bnz planes. T4 is where altitude plays a big part and learning the difference between BNZ and TNB. T6 is another skills gap as you will be flying against t7's, t7's can be hard because you now have to deal with t8 jets, t8 and above, flying jets is a lot different than flying the prop planes. The first line you go up, you are learning the plane and the tier and how your plane fits into that tier. Once you make it to t10 and can hang in t8+ tiers, going up other lines becomes easier as you are used to the play at all tiers. The German 109 line was my first line to tier 10. I think the US heavy line was 2nd, the La line was my 3rd, ETC. When I was running up the LA line and any other lines after, I knew what to expect and how to fly the planes at the highest level. I still needed to learn the planes, but at least I knew what I was getting into. All the new tiers will seem hard at first, because of stock planes, etc. I use my free xp to unlock modules, not to unlock the next tier plane so I wont be starting from completely stock.

Can't agree with this enough. 109 was my first At every tier except VIII (J7W1 there). I got stomped so hard in the 109F. Before there were bots, when it faced 262s and the like. Oh man I sucked. And of course I got both the Z and G in it... nowadays T6 is mid tier at best for me but flying that first T6 is like learning I swim ina pool of sharks. You often don't survive long enough to even learn to swim.

Sweet.  I have a few game in the tier 6 109.  The firepower is weak and I have to deal with it.  So the answer  seems to be the line is worth going up.  Thanks guys.

I am starting to like the tier 6 109.  It takes me a little while to build up some crew skills, but I will get there.
