Let it be noted that this is not a new game.....it's simply another MODE of battle, besides Standard Battle....this is Conquest Mode, which will be included in 2.0.  You can fly either standard battle or conquest mode.

You can still go mug bots of this isn't your particular flavor of vodka.

hmmm...conquest mode...-eyes his deck killers---i might can do that. thats how another game i played was set up...not individual targets..but 'primary objectives' such as bombing a radar facility...taking out a boat yard..etc etc

The wind effect are strange to say the least. and i'm not sure how i feel about the new layout of the instruments. but then again, since when did anything we say matter

There are areas you need to control, not destroy, control. At least that's how it was in CT testing.

We gave them a lot of feedback in CT testing on instrument layout, lack of certain controls, flight mechanics, etc, etc.  

Now how much of that they actually incorporate into the next iteration is still a mystery...I guess we'll find out if they actually listened to us following the first round of CT testing.

How do you know that bots won't be part of this mode. Has WG said that officially ?

Not a big fan of control points. Would much rather see destruction of planes & GTs as the objective in this mode. AW did control points in their new mode. Its super "gamey" and made the killing of enemy vehicles close to meaningless.

I was very active in testing, as well as giving feedback, to my knowledge WG Han net specifically stated if this will be a new mode seperate from the existing, or if this mode will replace the existing.

 

We still have bits, and even more bots. You have friendly bots, enemy bots, and neutral bots defending un-owned sectors.  You have to work with your bots wisely.  Once you take control of a sector, the neutral bots become friendly, but they stick to defending only that sector.

 

The video shows only what was happening during testing, no new information.

Please don't misunderstand me, there were bots during testing, and probably will be bots when Conquest mode goes live.

I simply implied that if someone doesn't like Conquest mode, they can still fly Standard Battles. I apologize if I wasn't clear.

Furthermore WG has stated nothing definitive at all. As Mars said, they still haven't even confirmed that Conquest will be a separate mode or not, but that was what they implied.

either way, their putting this game back in the spotlight to work on it, that's a thumbs up anyway I look at it.....

it's pretty much a dead game, more bots than rl players, so i'm happy to see something in the works

It kind of looks like the domination mode in Warships, but with bots. So, one must realize that each sector taken from you turns those bots against you, then things can get interesting real quick. That looks like an interesting mode. Thanks to both of you for that and I will look forward to seeing what comes of this with the next update. So to take a sector that has turned to the other team is to kill all the bots there in order to get it to turn in your favour, just kill any live player if there is one there or do you just take it if no one there? Is that indicator at the top a supremacy meter like in the standard game?

They implied no such thing. Not even when they called it a "mode". WG will not re-code the entire game logic and then give you the option to stay in the old mode. I'm guessing there will be the bot training battles + this new mode, and that's IT. Alternatively they could have the mode selection be random, similar to how WT does their Realistic mixed tank and aircraft battles. You never know what mode you'll be playing in until you hit battle to find out.

Was there any improvement / evolution of bot AI? Path finding?  Decision making?  Match Making?

There is no reported movement at all. The OP's video was old footage from the 1st CT test.  We've heard nothing concrete about a 2nd round of testing.

Two of the biggest bot exploits in the current game were eliminated in the new mode.  There was also a different supremacy meter/timer, So getting bots to chase and crash is also eliminated.

 

With all the issues the new mode had... At least they eliminated the biggest issues with the current game.

I'll take anything that is different from the current mode. It got stale the moment bots got mixed in. Although the bad mm and low battle que sizes weren't any better. I despised the 5+min que times. That was terrible. Shouldn't have been left stagnant for that long...

I just hope this mode will not come down to who can cap zones fastest, instead of killing enemy aircraft and GTs.
