I play NA late at night and low tiers is about all that is going on. So, I need low tier plane and pilot skill recommendations.
Thank you

Whatever planes work best for you. There are potential op planes in each tier, provided you know how to fly them right. I don't fly tier 2 much anymore, but I recall liking the USSR i-15. The tier 3 and 4 I-16's are also fun to play. I also like the Japanese army line. Those are more turn and burn planes. For boom and zoom planes I like the thunderbolt line, I like the 109 line, the t5 Mig3, t5 p38, 110's. For pilot skills, you want to focus on making the planes strengths better. If it is a turn and burn plane, you want to maximize the manueverability. If it is a fast plane, you want to maximize the speed of the plane such as engine guru and similar stuff.
I used to play mostly overnight and I could consistently get battles in high tiers. If the wait is too long, drop down for a bit and try again.

Thank you. I did notice when I looked at the plane stats by tier on warplanes.today I saw that the ME 109's are now bottom of the stats. The last time I played the game the ME 109's rules the sky completely. What changed?

Nothing really changed.
After a while WG can check all stats, they just don't want planes to be so OP.
So after a while the best planes get a nerf in some update, hence you have to start all over.

Quick truth...it ain't the plane.
That said the 110b at tier four is a monster.
The I-16 and F2F at tier three.
The AR 68 is solid at two.
The truth is, without the knowledge of how to fly any plane properly...they all suck.

There is some truth right there.
Tier 3 would be the FW-57 but if flown wrong then the F3F would beat it out.
Then again so will the TSh-3.
Of course watch out for the I-16e if the player is smart enough to hunt down the F3F first
Tier 4 would be the I-16L with rockets if you can get someone that doesn't know what they are doing in a BF-110.
Of course disregard all the above and learn to fly each plane in each tier.
Each and every one of us have our own preferences and styles of play.
While I may make an I-16e or I-16L look OP another player could make them look like death traps.
Not many people like a Beau-fighter because it seems so under-powered but there are a couple of pilots that will win
every match in it. It will leave you scratching your head and wondering what hack AZIS is using.
The (not so) amazing Chokai is back! And he's hit all his personal goals sans one! Seriously though, nice to be back, looks like he game is improving. I continue to try to recruit new people.

All these are really great suggestions!
I lean towards the two I-16, both the early and the late model. They are really maneuverable little aircraft. If not a bit vulnerable, and they are not high flyers, so you will have to outmaneuver your opponents, and always make sure to look above you!

I would expect that the reason not many people mention the Zero is because of the dominance of the heavy fighters at this tier. Tier 4 does have great turn and burn planes, but tier 4 and 5 have boom and zoom planes that can carry games completely if flown correctly. The last time I played this game 2 years or so ago tier 4 and 5 were completely dominated by boom and zoom planes. The BF 109 flights were in every match.

I did really well in the I-16 (late) last night. I unlocked the tier 5 Lagg3 very quickly.
As a note if you play this game very late, like 3AM eastern time, tier 2-4 is about the only thing anyone is playing. This is what prompted this forum topic.

I got my first Gorovets during the Summer Winds event, which was in May three years ago. The version of WoWP was 1.3 or 1.4, can't remember. The Akamatsu came about two months after that. So, while Tiers 4-5 have great BnZ planes, the Zero is still a wonder to behold, mainly because it is so underrated and in the right hands, is just a killer. Maybe for sentimental reasons, it's one of my favorite planes overall.

I usually play from about midnight and sometimes until 7am or so. I usually fly the high tiers. There will be a point where I might have to fly 6s and 7 for a bit.
I don't care much for the lagg3 anymore, but the La5 is good when you get it upgraded.
