I'm close to the LA-160 and thought it's time for a review how I performed in the LA-9. I came across the following. I do more damage and score more kills in the LA-9 than in the I-250 however the win rate, compared to the I-250, is way lower. I've been flying both planes solo or flighted. Is here anybody who could explain what is going on or shares the same experience ?

Maybe you are more cautious in the I-250 and just throw yourself

into the fireball with the la-9 going down in a blaze of glory but taking

more enemies with you.  Being alive at the end of the match can

dictate the win just as much as kills. Look at your survival rate for

both planes, this may give the answer.

^ This, staying alive is your best chance at winning games.

The I-250 is a better altitude fighter.  So, if the win depends on altitude (heavy fighter is all that's left or taking out the high alt fighters in the beginning) that is your ticket.

I will share the opposite experience.I have a slightly better win rate in my La9 compared to my I-250. Its only a few percentage spread though. Like Dave said, check the survival ratio on each plane. when you compare more points it will give you a better picture. You might also be going in heavy on the furball, but not surviving the battle. Once you die and you are the only human in the battle, its a good chance that you will lose. Especially if the enemy team's human(s) are alive.

Just a heads up, the La160 will be different than the other planes in this line. Luckily they did make it better with one of the patches, Grinding it was painful. Last few times I played it, they made it better. Try to free xp past the 37mm cannon, that thing sucks(or at least it used to). The 30mm cannons used to shoot like the TA 152 30mm cannons, but they are better now(they shoot faster).

I bet you have more influence on the outcome of a battle with the 250's altitude advantage than you do with the LA-9.

Thank you for the feedback and the heads up for the La-160. The La-160 is in my hangar now. I've spent all my silver for the purchase. The virgin flight is on hold.

I think the la160 was hard for me as I didn't have the 262 or the Ta 152 yet. Back before 1.9 the top guns on the la 160 shot slow like the 262 and the ta 152. When it hit, it did cause some good damage though. Post 1.9, the 30's shoot a bit faster.

La 9 is pretty slick if you dogfight mid high alt early game to bottom pit late game. Honestly the I-250 is quite inconsistent with the 37s, if you don't land your shots, but as a stall fighter it has absolute altitude supremacy.
