I watch this YouTube channel at times and learned things, such has what happen in England with a power failure, How AI will reacted to in professional jobs and society, and today's  session, "What happened in Y2K" from a tech support POV. Interesting lecture.

Damn, I feel old. I remember dealing with that mess. As history goes, this is a good video. What do you guys think?

Its rather amazing how many people do not prepare for disasters and such.....

I would love to credit lack of funding, but it seems like some just think everything will be alright

Personally, i took a nap when most of east north america lost power a while back, read a nice book and had one heck of a bbq

Well, planes didn't fall out of the sky and bank machines weren't spitting money out, I just went to bed that night.

did the same but you had to admit you wondered what would happen when you turned on your PC that morning.  (I know some gamers that ran the PC all night so they did not have to boot up that day)

i guide for survival camping classes at my work (for fun ), majority of people i meet would not survive 72 hours in ideal conditions. No need to become and ocd preper but you should at least learn trapping, basic foraging etc. Most people would not be able to light a fire without a match, never mind have the stomach to kill a squirrel or other rodents.

mike like that list, id probably ad a flint, water purification pills or filter and a good knife.
