In 2011 my father-in-law passed away. As a result my wife and I became caretakers of an 10 year old West Highland terrier name Riley, that was my father-in-law's dog. And after being 17 years on this planet we had to put him down today due to old age. :( There many signs that added up to this decision in maintaining his quality of life.

We will miss his smile and his shenanigans in just being him. He has truly made his mark in our lives.  He shall be missed.

They give us so much while asking for so little in return. RIP Riley.

Very sorry flak, I mean I love animals more than I do most people their more loyal more lovable more trusting and they don't care how much money you make they are the best medicine in my humble opinion so go get a new puppy it worked for me.

Losing a furbaby is like losing a child.  Having to put one down is even harder.

A couple years ago, we had to put down our 15 yr old puppygirl, and it tore me up.

We waited a few weeks for the pain to subside a bit, then started hitting up the local rescue shelters until we found our new baby, who is now 3 yrs old, and we can't imagine life without her.

The bright side is that someday, we'll see them again at the Raindow Bridge.

Peace, Brother.

Very sorry to hear about your loss. Dogs are truly mans best friend and their only needs are food water and companionship. They have unconditional love and it's a true tragedy when we loose one of them. You have my condolences.

Wife and I had to put down her 13 yr old Yorkie 2 years ago on July 4th weekend, I know the pain. Still  miss the little bugger. A couple of weeks later another came along (he was abandoned) and we were hesitant so soon after the loss of one, but know now that he does not replace but he has brought so much joy to our other pup that was missing his best friend, and just as much of the joy for my lovely wife (better known as "She who Must Be Obeyed"). Sojo is right, you will find a new pup, and will have it's own special personality that will bring so much joy back to your life. So sorry for the loss, please stay open for a new friend, the right one will come to you.

Peace
