Welcome to another addition of Warplane Wednesday, where I bring attention to rare, unique, or just left out aircraft not featured in the game currently, and give it the spotlight for all to talk about and enjoy.

This week is a British light bomber with a wild name, its the Vildebeest!

The Vickers Vildebeest and the similar Vickers Vincent were two very large two- to three-seat single-engined British biplanes designed and built by Vickers and used as light bombers, torpedo bombers and in army cooperation roles. While first flown in 1928, it remained in service at the start of the Second World War, with the last Vildebeests flying against Japanese forces over Singapore and Java in 1942.

Vickers really liked Alliteration with their aircraft names, didn't they.

Maybe they were secretly competing with Fairey Aviation for best aircraft name. :teethhappy:

The British have a knack for naming aircraft that no one else has.
