Seriously, too many people think that flying a GA just means shooting ground targets until the rest of the team either wins, or they lose, leaving you the last plane to die as you blindly continue to bang away at worthless ground targets.  Oh, the futility of it all.

The job of a "good" GA pilot is to watch the flow of the battle, keep an eye the supremacy meter, and reset the clock as necessary. This is done by either hitting GTs, or planes. Planes are by and large, more valuable as targets than GTs. Only the most heavily fortified installation or battleship is worth more towards supremacy than an enemy GA or heavy fighter.

Your job is NOT to clear ground targets, but to manage the clock (supremacy timer).

Picture a 10v10 battle, where suddenly your team is down 7 to 3....with just a lone fighter, a bot GA, and you in your GA.

How many times have you seen the GAs just continue to bang away at yellow squares while the fighter faces down 5 opponents?

Even when it's just the two GAs remaining, they simply continue to bang away at now worthless targets, trying to scratch out a few more pieces of silver coinage

Watch the following video carefully. The first half is just simple window licking, shooting at Tier 4 GTs with Tier 3 MGs, trying to reset the supremacy meter as necessary.

However, when the situation reaches the point I just described above, it's time to start thinking of the team as a whole, peel your tongue off the glass, look up from the ground, and press the attack.

No medals....no glory....just an example of how grab victory from the jaws of defeat.

Serious shout out to seahawk36 [VULCN] here. :honoring:

All alone against 5 enemy planes in his I-16, he stayed alive long enough for my BSh-1 to get there and distract the enemy enough for him to switch from being purely defensive, and turn the battle around for the win.

Teamwork is OP....'nuff said.

Sometimes I even kill planes first then take out some big targets and if we look to be in trouble back to killing planes.

GA's have the lowest survival rate so it takes no skill to kill a variety of targets and changing the outcome of a battle.

Nice Vid Warchylde

The reality of GAA play is that the majority of battle outcomes will be determined without you. Leading most GAA players to neglect the most important skill you can learn in this game...awareness. The tunnel vision that infects a large body of the GAA community, is why so many have such a low opinion of their abilities. If you're going to play GAA at the very least be aware of the situation and actively pursue opportunities to assist your team in winning. Pity more GAA players don't follow your very good advice...well done <o.

As Johnny Carson used to say - You are correct. sir.

It takes NO skill....to get a kill.....in an IL

In fact many flying tank  GA pilots just skip GT all together now and go straight for planes because it so easy for them.

Now, that's too funny, switching out the word "win," which you couldn't do in yours and substituting it for "kill," in a very sad way to legitimize your false claim. Granted and to the shock of many, you did take at least one enemy aircraft down, no doubt a glorious moment for your cause.

Easiest kill I ever made .....just tap the mouse less than half second, and POOF !!!!   full HP plane gone.

Do I really have to explain win again ?

Easy and yet only one? I find it rather odd you couldn't have got more, especially with your never die "zombie" rear gunner. Hmmm....

Explain "win" till you are blue in the face, but you couldn't even pull off your own false claim that IL's were/are "no skill" wins.

Ooh, Oww, such rapier wit....Now my feelings are hurt.

No rational, well thought out rebuttal?

Why am I not surprised that the most intelligent response your feeble mind could come up with was "soundtrack sucked"??

That BSh-1 has less forward firepower than most fighters and it is punished on dispersion in air to air combat because it is a GA. Would you like to try again after getting up from another mindless face plant?

Nice job warchylde and seahawk. I love when I have useful ga pilots on my team. Ive had a few games where I was in the same position as seahawk where I was the last fighter left, except my human ga pilot. I would take the rest of the team down to my aa and start dodging as best as I could. Between AA, the GA, and myself we were able to pull off an incredible odds win with 7 against us two. Wish I could remember which ga pilot that was. Teamwork is OP. I wish more people would get that.

Good advice for the ones who know how to use a GA, nice video.

There will always be someone saying something stupid about this, don't blame them, they are clueless.

The back side of using a GA (especially like this) you get less XP.

But hey, a win is a win, that's the most important thing.

And THAT is the whole point of the thread....Go for the win, rather than taking a loss for a few more coins and exp....The difference in the rewards between a win and a loss outweighs petty greed.

Translation for those who still don't get it:

You get more credits and exp for a win than you do for a loss with the same number of kills/targets/damage.

I like lime juice lightly misted on the glass with a sea salt & smoked chili powder dusting... followed with a quart of mezcal...

Heavies and fighters need to pay attention  to their GA's. Many times I see my team members get picked apart high in the sky. Most of the time I mention, lure them to me, I might get lucky!
