If you're not good with computers and can't adjust what's running on your system using MSconfig, try installing a game booster.

Don't expect a miracle, but the booster I linked will help squeeze out a few extra FPS by shutting stuff down that you're not using while you are gaming.

I have a good video card and good internet, but results still vary greatly. Some days I get 80-100 fps. Other days I'm chugging along at 20-30. I suspect the issue is on the game server side.

I've noticed in the past that going up against a really low FPS player they seem to fly more smoothly (slow turns & straight line flying) which isn't really a good thing for them since it's easy to shoot them down this way. Most probably because of the stuttery-ness and lagged gameplay. And I can relate. My previous system couldn't run this game more than 40fps averaging around 20-30fps which is still playable but not ideal for competitive play. Now I average 70-80 FPS (100+ up in the skies), 40-50fps looking down low in the ground where all the scenery, foliage & building objects are that eats up quite abit of FPS. Obviously it's alot better to play any game (not just WOWP) since everything you is responding better and moving more fluid.

I wouldn't consider upgrading anything for this game. It's badly optimized. If you're happy with your FPS now and can play casually then just do that. If in the future you start to really enjoy WOWP, then getting a more powerful GPU/CPU will get you more FPS. But don't expect a 200-300+ FPS increase. Like I said bad optimization.

I would go for a 1050.  Simple plug and play on the motherboard without any power cables.  It will make a huge difference if you're just running intel graphics.

Two words. Walmart & HP - says it all. You likely have an onboard graphics card. HP is usually too cheap to put a separate graphics card in. Used graphics cards available on ebay would probably be an improvement. Offloading a lot of the physics processing to a decent graphics card will improve the game for you. Just make sure to verify a graphics driver is available for the card you buy based on the version of OS you run - before you plunk down your money on a card.

Beav said it best. Off the shelf PCs have integrated graphics, which share RAM with the CPU. I popped in an MSI GTX 650 graphics card, and increased my overall performance greatly.

By utilizing the 2 GB GPU RAM, it frees up more system RAM for the CPU.

I use the HD client, and play the game on Low Graphics settings, which gives me 30-40 FPS, which is sufficient for gameplay. Some maps are more resource intensive, so your mileage may vary.

However, if you look at my videos, you will see about 10 FPS +/-. This is because I change my graphics settings to Very High before recording replays with Bandicam, providing a higher quality video.

2 GB of onboard video RAM, on just about any graphics card will greatly improve your FPS. Experiment with different Graphics settings to tweak your performance. Having features like textures and shadows turned on can lower your FPS, and are not necessary for smooth gameplay.

Scotch, Percocet, low public morals, and a severe case of DGAF are SOP when flying with Warhawks.

Yeah, it's a freakin' loony bin.:P
