Area 88 (エリア88Eria Hachi-Jū-Hachi?) is a Japanese mangaseries by Kaoru Shintani serializedbetween 1979 and 1986. The story is about a young pilot named Shin Kazama and his experiences at Area 88, a mercenary air force base secluded in the desert of a war torn country.

I suppose I could put up a WiP, not ready to give out any specific details yet, and I choose the screenshot from a darker angle to obscure some of the detail. It's actually a Fw.190A-8 but the plane I am painting was armed with only the 13mm cowl guns and inboard MG.151/20 cannons so it works well on the Fw.190A-5 in game.

Soon to be released thee Red Tail remembrance  pack

t has been 72 years since the Tuskegee Airmen fought their first battle in the skies over North Africa.

Today, too often we hear news that another member of the Redtails, America's first black combat pilots, has passed away.

All black military pilots who trained in the United States during World War II trained in Tuskegee. In all, almost a thousand black pilots trained there from 1941 to 1946. Of that number, 450 were deployed overseas and 150 lost their lives, including 66 killed in action.Of the roughly 450 who went overseas with the 332nd Fighter Group, about 32 are still alive, said Brian Smith, president of the Tuskegee Airmen National History Museum in Detroit.Counting all pilots and support staff -- mechanics, cooks -- about 15,000 to 20,000 were part of the "Tuskegee experience," Smith said. Today, about 600 are alive, Smith said. However, another Airmen historian, Ron Brewington, said earlier this year there are only about 200 known survivors left, though he acknowledged the number may be higher, CNN reported.Regardless of how many are left, the Airmen, like all other WWII veterans, are dwindling in numbers. As of September 2014, the Department of Veterans Affairs estimated there were 1 million living WWII veterans in the U.S. with an average of 514 dying each day.In the last nine months, AL.com has shared stories of the deaths of at least five Airmen, most recently 90-year-old Calvin Moret who died last week in New Orleans."I was very disappointed to hear about that," Smith said. "I had just talked to him in July."Clarence E. Huntley Jr. and Joseph Shambrey, lifelong friends who enlisted together, died on the same day in Los Angeles in January.Lowell Steward, who flew nearly 200 missions over Europe, died in December at age 95."We're losing them fast and we'll continue to hear about them passing," Smith said, noting most are in their 90s. One Airmen still living in Detroit is 100, he said."Their memories are fading and at the museum it is our mission to keep history alive and accurate," Smith said. "It's difficult."

He died  at the ago of 101 years  William Rodgers
