Pros and cons of each first----

Pro's of gamepad---->  1. style, grip and control method is very familiar as i started WG on xbox tank side.

                                      2. Easy to use, easy maintenance,

                                      3. Durable

Pro's of Flight stick----> 1. is designed for games such as this.

                                      2. one handed control. all weapons and buttons needed are withing easy reach.

                                      3. Can have greater game playing and longer games with said device

con's of both---->           1. BOTH are rather pricey for ones that aren't basically package garbage.

Con's of flight stick---> 1. would only be able to play wg games with this...it would not work for ..my other games

                                    2. Do not know how to use Flight Stick...would need to learn

                                    3. With how clumsy i am..id break it in a day or two.

thoughts...suggestions/ i have no choice but to go to best buy or used game stores...as my area stores NEVER carry joystick/flight sticks

This game has lots of issues with game pads and decent joy sticks do not have to be expensive. One of if not the most popular models that people here use is the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro which can be found for under $30, this is what I use.

Mouse/Keyboard is the best mode for you IMHO. Flight stick is more competitive, but if you've never used a joystick before the learning curve is extremely tough.

My flight stick ( joy stick ) use is limited due to the horizon being locked on the plane.

All that rolling, twisting and turning of the horizon gets me nauseated.

If I want to be nauseated I would drink more than my share of alcohol.

That being said. I would skip the game pad and not even consider it for a game like this.

I have played several flight games on the PS3/PS4 and the flight models with the game pad stink.

Game mechanics are built around Mouse/Keyboard, so...neither.

I prefer the joy stick, it is a flying game after all. Logitech Extreme 3D Pro is what I use, cheap,. I am on my third unit, however this one is lasting longer as I have become more zen like. hiho

I recommend you purchase the most expensive joy stick on the market.

Spending lots of cash is the surest path to victory.

I prefer joystick now. I started this game with mouse and keyboard. joystick feels more immersive than mouse and keyboard. With your Fps issues, I think keyboard will be better. If you ever get a better computer, then I suggest getting a logitech 3d pro to give the joystick a try.

For gaming, hardwired is the key. this includes everything from Internet connection, computer mice and keyboards. especially if you have a computer with a crappy fps or ping, you want to have as minimal lag as possible. some keyboards and mice have longer cords too.

i just keep seeing you guys in tier 4 and up flying these birds how their meant to be flown, and most have flight-stick/joysticks. any suggestions on keyboard and mouse?

Flying the plane how it's meant to be flown can be done with any of the input devices. you just need to fly to the strengths of the plane, and to the weaknesses of the other planes.

do you have pitch up assigned to a button? if not, you should. it tightens up the turns. I'll have to go through all my mouse settings when I get home and pm you some stuff to see if it helps.

Fortunately playing this game doesn't make you a "real pilot".

(Nor does being a real pilot make you good at the game....)
