I don't have one, but the Meteor always struck me as being rather mediocre, even for for a premium.  Guns are okay.  Am I missing something that isn't reflected in its stats?  Amazing boost or energy retention?

edit spelling

The Meteor is FAST. Like so fast that it can out-run almost anything but a dedicated heavy at tier 7, and even some of those. I easily kept up with an F7F the other day in mine. Play it exactly like a FW-190 plane, and you'll be happy. Also happily, it's even MORE maneuverable than a FW-190 compared to other planes in the tier!

It needs a light hand on the guns, and close range. Fire in short/medium bursts at close range and it will DECIMATE enemies. NEVER try to extend upwards; it bleeds speed in vertical maneuvers. Keep those loops horizontal. To disengage from a more maneuverable enemy simply nose down 5-10 degrees and use two pumps of boost and a little yaw to throw off their aim. Low roll rate means it's better to use yaw than a barrel roll to evade.

The P51K is back on sale.  I was initially tempted but then turned off.  I'm working my way up the US fighter line and would prefer something that I can train US crews.

Does the silver and XP creation outweigh its deficiency of training US crews?

You want a good US premium fighter, then you can't do much better than the XF4U1.  Flies like the F4U1 USED to fly before they turned it into a multirole, and nerfed its maneuverability. The weaker guns take some getting used to, but that just means you need to get a little closer, that's all.

P-51K is a beautiful plane - it's mostly a collector's item. It does make credits, but if you're looking for credits and experience, I would recommend a tier 8 premium if you already own one or more tier 8 tech tree aircraft. For me, there's a difference between 140-150k credits per battle on my J8M, P-80A, and JL-whatever vs about 60k credits per battle on the P-51K.

Cheers!

Glenn

The collection of my premiums is growing, most stem from contests some were bought. 23% of my planes are premiums but I've used them only 18% of the time.

In a third of them my win rate is below my average. Just throwing these numbers in for consideration.
