Hey all,

I bound increase/decrease aircraft throttle, thinking they'd allow me to increase speed without engine boosting; however, they appear to do the same thing.

Am I missing something?  W and S seem to act the exact same as increase/decrease throttle...

Thanks all!

P.S. Thank you all for your help so far.  I've gotten significantly better with your help over the past two days.

By default throttle is set at 100% & you can only increase engine power by boosting which is of course limited. You can however decrease the throttle in increments which will allow you too cool your engines for faster boost recovery or to decrease speed. W / S keys by default are boost / zero throttle really are all you need to use while in combat.

wrong...if you don't know an answer look it up before giving wrong info.

if you are using a mouse:

Go into settings and bind the keys.

You should have separate keys for

boost

flaps

brake

increase throttle

decrease throttle

I am left handed so my keys are bound to the number pad.

Increase throttle " + "  will always be 100% at the start of a match.

decrease throttle " - " will reduce speed by 10% each time you press it.

Boost " 8 " will use the boost ( if throttle is decreased then throttle will auto to 100% + boost and throttle will stay at 100%

                  until you use decrease.

Brake " 5 " will reduce throttle to 0 instantly. mine is set to hold. if I release it then the throttle goes back to 100%

Flaps " 2 " will make my wings go up and down like a bird and usually scars the bots off. while not messing with the throttle contols

but has stalled the plane more than a couple of times.

All this when you could just tap "S" if you really needed too.

has anyone noticed that the OP has a bunch of very good question threads and besides my post here and the good plane for new players one. He got answered in the same tone that he asked the question, nope we just troll new people all day long.

yes i know off topic "reported", but people have weird selective memory and i wanted it pointed out.

Great questions Desmios got me thinking but the wiki site people got to you first.

W - Boost: Goes over 100%, will go to full throttle if lower than 100% when engaged.

S - Idle (Air Brake, which it is not) - goes down to 0%, and go back to whatever previously is before you engage it.

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

I think those controls are explained in setup menu. It only needs to be red.

But, some joystics might be tricky to setup, ie.saitek.

Yes, basically.

There used to be a technique where people would bind keys to throttle, then reduce throttle to 80 or 90% after your initial climb and cool your boost some while continuing to climb.  But there have been a lot of mechanics changes since then and it's basically superfluous now, especially since it leaves a chance that you might forget to return to 100% before engaging.

I haven't used anything but S and W for years now.

Yo newbie. Switch to Joystick with a throttle then you can just swing it 0 -> 100% all day long. I'd suggest making this decision early on your game while your learning. Makes it easier to transition from a M/KB scrub to a MLG l337 stick. Oh and use client side. Your welcome. Don't be surprised if whiners cry about your bullets. That's normal.
