They are working on the game and they will eventually do some "re-grand-opening" thing when they feel they have reached a certain milestone that the tanks players will be "okay" with playing and will implement clan wars. This will sort of put a knife to their the tankers throat, saying basically play this game or get royally screwed in clan wars by other clans that do, and then tankers would give it a try and be like "hey this isn't THAT bad".

The issue is they have to be DAMN CERTAIN that the game is good enough when they pull a stunt like that. That's why they are waiting so long.

Interesting idea....hmmm

Well we know lack of resources isn't the problem...in fact they are starting a new project (Hybrid Wars) instead of giving this game the attention it needs.

So lack of effort sounds like a safe bet

Not too mention investment in other MMO games...  like Master of Orion.

or even the Excalibur project which hasn't been announced by them but is in their list of gaming history

Here again resources away from a living project (kinda) as they have somebody posting the billboard up when that billboard could be for Warplanes

They don't want to advertise for a game that is currently [edited].. and who can blame them.

Oh there's plenty of ways to do it. It would likely have something to do with movement. The planes territories would probably be the same as the tanks territories, and you would be unable to move without serious disadvantage unless the territory was contested by planes or something. That makes sense, you can't really advance a column of tanks without air cover as they'd just get bombed.

But for them to do that with a game that no one on tanks wants to play would be akin to shooting themselves in the foot. They are working on the game and they will eventually do some "re-grand-opening" thing when they feel they have reached a certain milestone that the tanks players will be "okay" with playing and will implement clan wars. Considering the idea that i've sampled their other two products and find myself preferring this one only out of the 3......

Also in speaking with new players they often ask the same thing...why no advertising

So if people are willing to play what WG considers a failure over what they are pushing i'm sure they could bait others into their trap

At this point we can only hope they upset enough players on their other products and they decide to wander over to the red-headed step child

What Gouldy said. You advance to tier X faster using non-premium in WoWP than you do WITH premium in WoT. Basically they make up for their calculation difference by massively increasing base XP in WoWP.

yeerrppppp x2 = 10,000 XP in WoWP with premium. x2 in tanks = 2500 xp if you're lucky with premium.

It's not supposed to be a trap. They are hoping everyone forgets about the game so the second first impression will turn out better.

It's all just politics at this point.

The issue is they have to be DAMN CERTAIN that the game is good enough when they pull a stunt like that. That's why they are waiting so long.

The last I had heard (when they were supposedly actively working on it and 'close to release' of clan wars) they were developing a system that would allow the tanks clan to call in an 'airstrike' much like the 'artillery strike' in that game mode they took out (with the respawning). The way they said it was going to work was that the clan that won in the air would have an airstrike to call in on the Tanks side. They were going to make it so that a Tanks clan could 'ally' with a Planes clan to work together that way the tankers wouldn't have to play Planes if they didn't want to. The way that sounded, it kinda sounded like Planes would be a support role to Tanks and that you wouldn't actually hold territory with Planes - which would actually be fairly realistic.

I think a good way to make this work would be to have several airbases that Planes can hold, and have a range outside of these territories that the clan holding the airbase can assist. If the Tanks clan expands before the Planes clan can gain an airbase within range of a territory, they'll get smashed by whoever does have the support range. Of course, there would be a lot of overlap between support ranges, and that would be where fighting for aerial supremacy would come in and whoever wins those air battles, the Tanks crew would be able to call in an airstrike. (These airstrikes would not be player controlled - they would simply be a marked spot on the ground where bomb/rocket attacks will happen.)

Planes clans would get X amount of gold for each supremacy battle won, and would accrue gold for holding airbases just like the Tanks people do (with a higher modifier since there won't be nearly as many airbases).

Cheers!
Glenn

Bandet this makes a lot of sense. I always wondered why ads dried up but the game wasn't shut down.
