I know that when you have these they effect speed and turns, But AFTER you use them do you go to a "Clean" profile?

Correct, you go back to normal performance after you dump ordinance.

Yep, you go back to clean on dump. It can be fun to carry ordinance into a battle and dump it right away - it changes the stats on your plane and people will think they have an advantage - then you dump and it doesn't change the stats but your plane performs as well as theirs haha! ;)

Cheers!

This was something I had been wondering.  Do the quick comparison icons in the target window change in real-time or no?

No, they do not - at least, not last I checked. When I carry ordinance on my 410 and drop it all at the start of a battle to fight another 410 he still shows as superior even though I am able to turn with him (and often out-turn due to crew skills and equipment). This could also explain a lot of the complaints I've heard from people about bots with inferior stats being able to turn with them?

Cheers!

That would explain a lot then.  I know bots will choose somewhat random configurations of the planes.  Had an amusing set of training battles where everything was a low tier attacker, and it seemed like every possible configuration was presented with how stats were aligned at the start.

No idea if it got changed at some point but you "used to" go back to a slightly-worse-than-clean performance state to simulate the racks & struts for the ordnance still producing drag.

Hangar Progression:

P-51D / P-38J / F4U-4 - La-5 / Yak-1M / Yak-9 / IL-20 - Bf 109F / FW-190A / Me 410 - A7M - Spitfire V / Mosquito

I remembered that used to be as well.  But I just did a quick check with equipment on the F4F.  It goes to the same stats as clean if you equip the bomb module and don't load the bombs.

Yeah, they decided to make a change to go to 'clean' performance. I think it's one of the better things they did to the MR class.

Cheers!

If you ever want to check the performance loss of an aircraft, mount the rockets/bombs, then go to service and use the slider to change to supplied quantity to 0.

Agreed.  No punishment means more reason to use.  I'll start carrying on some of my MR planes again.
