Yes the game is doing alright. WG has added bots to give a higher target ratio and dispense with the 1 vs 1 matches of earlier patches.
This offset has actually made the game somewhat interesting and more like a console missions game rather than MMO.
"So...just making sure the game will still be up and running." There have been no plans published by WG to shut this game down nor have there been any signs and symptoms.
Now just log on in and join in the fun, mayhem and destruction.
See you in the sky.
Uh if the game is doing alright why were bots added? Seems like there would be enough humans playing to not need bots if the game was doing fine?
No?
Edit: Any development aimed at new subs died a looong time ago ( when bots were added in fact ..), the game is in mtce mode.

Really? I find it far more enjoyable, with actual humans to play against- and bots it I wish- better defined classes with actual roles, diversity in the classes, a better system for just about everything- besides captain training- better captain skills, more active and responsive (not sating much) developers-, community feedback is actually welcome- see the SA change- and... well I could go on.
Honestly, it's not super, but it's leagues above here I feel. I still play here- I'll play for a week or so every few months. But over there I will play day after day after day for months.
The (not so) amazing Chokai is back! And he's hit all his personal goals sans one! Seriously though, nice to be back, looks like he game is improving. I continue to try to recruit new people.
Actually Destin, lord knows I rarely defend this game, but will here.
1. Bots are needed now, but only because WG has screwed this game up so much (off to a great start defending *cough*).
2. It is in no way pay to win. Silver ammo is the best. Upgrades are bought for silver. Payment makes getting stuff quicker- but I can win without putting a dollar in, and am on an equal playing field.
3. Long time WoW player off and on. Classes are horribly unbalanced. In Wrath of the Lich King a developer point blank said that the new Death Knight class was designed to be OP since it was a hero class. So no, unbalanced classes aren't unique and indeed are famous in WoW. Even in Nilla you had SL/SL Warlocks and Windfury Proc Shammies.
4. Meh.
5. Mods don't make bad people, bad people make bad people.

The game play in WoWS is just too slow for me.
When I tried WoWS I was expecting navy field but better.
It was worse. Worse than a 2d sprite game from 2006.

When was world of warcraft ever balanced? World of warcraft never was popular for being balanced. It was only briefly in the e-sports league, and was eventually dropped for being unbalanced.

Matches taking full 20 minutes are not very uncommon...and by the time guns starts to blaze, a battle in Planes is already over.
I can sympathize...
1. I agree, but bots are a necessity due to Persha's continuous mess ups and taking too long to fix things. I would love 15v15 or at least 10v10 humans up to t10. I miss my 15 vs 15 all human battles
2. No. I only use standard stuff. I do have premium planes. Majority of the premium planes are not even close to op. Up until recently I only used standard account. Now that I can get premium account with tickets I run premium when I can. Premium doesn't help win, just helps you get more xp and silver. My last 400 or so days according to warplanes.today show my win rate in upper 60%. My overall isn't good. I'm a late bloomer.
3. Get rid of the bots stalling to chase heavies and that should help. Also get rid of Mario cart boost refresh. Oh, and buff most of the Japanese line, or do something to make it better. I agree, get rid of multirole plane designation and make it how it was before. I want rockets on my p51's, gondolas on my 109's, full gun load out on my lagg3, etc.
4. Regarding pilot skills. Everyone eventually has access to them. Many times I fight with a new pilot and honestly I can't seem to find a big difference between a 75% pilot and a 100% pilot with 5 skills. Maybe that's just me.
5. No. All mods in this game are client side. All of them are for visual customization, getting rid of useless bot chatter, and you know what ratings all the players are at(which you should already know who is good and who is not because there are so few of us). None of the mods can make you shoot through mountains, go through mountains, make you have god mode from doom on, etc. Mods don't make anyone a bad person in this game. Bad people are just bad people. Before video games, punk rock, rap, and metal, people burned other people at the stake and tortured people. Bad people are just bad people.

Why do people think mods can do anything to make you better?
Oooohhh I changed my crosshair from red to blue! so much hacks!!?

This.
The problem with the launch of the game was the WG didn't give skilled tankers automatic inclusion as testers from the beginning, and so when the tankers got a chance to play it they weren't anywhere near as good as the existing beta population. This necessitated them running back to the WoT forums and bad-mouthing WoWP to mend their delicate egos. Once enough of them did this the general WoT population wrote it off, and WG lost any shot at the instant free population boom.
This initial failure was compounded many times over the next year, (and the competition from a competing air game was admittedly FIERCE), but the initial shock to the system of less than 1% game to game crossover with WoT began the downward slide.
What ever you may think is your opinion. The reason the game went down is because the supposed elite fliers didn't like some update changes so they cried about it and left. They started to die and didn't like being ganged up and would only fly in platoons. The major problem with the game is real simmers like me don't mind the game play but only one aspect which is the spray and pray from 800m out. The range of the guns should only be 250m out anything more should be no damage. That would actually give you the ability to use some flying skill. That in my opinion is the biggest problem with the game. Maybe the damage also. If your plane gets hit then it doesn't fly as well. But with the bots that is just lame and needs to be removed or they will not have a game at all as you can see. I don't play on line to fly against bots. Other then that not much is bad with the game. remove the bots and lessen the gun range and your back in business. So for all of you who like flying Check out IL2 Battle of Moscow! or the not too bad War Thunder. See you in the air soon oh and Rise of Flight. Good luck with your game.

I use the cockpit all the time in Realistic Mode. It's a fantastic way to snipe a bomber with the 37mm of the P-63 while outside the effective range of his 50cal twin tails. It also a good way to iron sight a bomb kill on a tank using a 500lb unguided bomb with a half second fuse delay. It's also an amazing way to get better hits in a head-on at range to calculate the shell drop. It also just fun to use it when you are going from A to B to feel more realistic. About the only time a cockpit is NOT useful is in a dogfight with another fighter, and sometimes it's even useful then.
You are all bad until I see you in IL2 Battle of Moscow or Rise of Flight or War Thunder don't talk about knowing how to fly.

Are you sure it isn't because they programmed the bots to follow you??
Just saying, you prefer to stay away from your team as much as possible so this could explain your dislike of the game.
