Thanks for the details! Cool to see that they're finally animating the rear gunners! The ability to wound the rear gunners is also going to be nice (I've never seen a rear gunner wounded before, even though it's technically possible).

In regard to the sounds, I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to feel about that - my engine has always been my main point of reference whenever I'm doing anything with flight, be it flying in real life or playing computer games and sims. You gotta know where your RPMs are to know how much available power you have and to know what kinds of maneuvers you can pull off - if the engine volume is not constant that could pose a problem for me. Definitely something I'll look into when the patch hits.

Cheers!
Glenn

P.S., Can I please have a polished metal skin for my P-51D now?

These notes all sound positive, minus the sounds. Every time you have messed with the sounds since I've been around they have gotten worse. We'll see!

The rear gunners actually get wounded a fair amount from what I've seen, so I'm interested to see where this came from. Basically every time I'm killing a GAA their Rear gunner goes red, since I came back a little over a week ago.

If you're saying you never see it, I guess I just must be one of the few that still aim for them.

" A rear gun now chooses targets posing a threat to the player's aircraft more effectively."

Sounds kind a good, but why not let the rear gunner shoot at the target the player is locked on (when he is locked on a target within rear gunner range). This way the pilot can tell whom to shoot.

Engine cooling got hit by nerfbat!

...wait, IL-40P getting a new gun? A souped up AM-23?

Yeah, I've never noticed it at least, and I've never had my own wiped out so I figured it must be super-hard to hit them or one of those possibly-impossible things lol

Cheers!

There is only 1 indicator for an injured crew member, I think.

It might be an option to give all planes with a pilot and a rear gunner 4 consumables. The 4th one only for the rear gunner (to load a medicine pack), so we can give him some bandage too?

Thanks for the patch notes. I have to agree with Dity about sounds but my fingers are crossed that you actually used a sound engineer for the re-vamp.

Currently there are symbols for both the pilot and rear gunner. The pilot is a steering yoke and the rear gunner is 3 rounds next to each other. The med kits work when either crew member is injured, but a 4th consumable would be nice on TG equipped planes.

Brain matter.....I want to see brain matter on the canopy to ensure the demise of that never die zombie tail gunner.

Will an IL tailgunner also see brain matter of the chasing pilot if a fighter stays in his field  of view too long?

Can't say that I've seen that - not that I pay much attention though... I'm usually just putting rounds downrange until I see an explosion lol.

Let's hope for Autumn/Fall...it's the only one missing from the four seasons of event expert medals.

Changed the effects provided by consumables: "Engine Ventilation" now restores 40% of boost duration, "Engine Cooling" restores 70% of boost duration, and "Emergency Engine Cooling" restores 50%. "Engine Cooling" no longer provides three seconds of protection from engine heating after use. These consumables can now be used only once per battle.

QFT, they had the sounds pretty much spot on in closed beta and every time they have mucked with them it has been for the worse. Maybe they are reverting to a better implementation of the sounds? Probably not but I can hope, I want the jackhammer sound of the Fat Wulf's 20's back, those guns were not rapid firing even by 1930's standards.

Nice to see the effort G'Prime... looking forward to the tweaks at hand.  Curious about sounds.
