You have to go into settings and disable the stupid mechanic that flips your plane back over

That is only a problem if you use the mouse & KB instead of a proper joystick.

If you are able to climb at a steeper angle without losing speed when inverted than when not inverted you are climbing faster. This isn't a simulation engine so it really doesn't surprise me.

That's the part you're not getting.  Even though your angle is steeper, you're not actually ascending as fast because the lift of the wings works against the climb, not with it.  Yes, the way the engine handles this is a little goofy but there's still no magical bonus from rolling or inverting.  You're still trading altitude (or sacrificing some rate of climb) for speed.

Now that I think about it, it might actually be possible to dive faster by rolling or inverting.  I might have to experiment with this.

All tin foil hat theories aside, I always fly upside down because you spot planes below you better when flying inverted.

Indeed.  I touched on it in the video too.  Personally I like to roll when I'm at middle altitudes to scan alternately above/below, and invert when I'm trying to find that last GA or such.  I otherwise seldom make a habit of flying inverted unless I'm pretty sure I'm the highest thing around.

Interesting fact: pilots in a Close Air Support mission will sometimes nose up and invert when a ground observer is trying to orient them to friendly and enemy positions for the same reasons.  It's among the reasons you always give directions in NSEW and not left/right.

The fastest dive is going perpendicular. Flying horizontally then flip the plane should help to reach this position faster. Once perpendicular it has no further effect.

It's not that you dive faster being inverted it's to reach the ideal (perpendicular) position faster.

Uh, everyone hasn't been doing this since day 1?

You do sacrifice rate of climb if pointed up, but you keep your air speed up to be ready to engage in a fight at any time.

I think you all are missing my point. Of course it is my fault for using the word HACK.

The entire point is that a Yak-9U ( for example ) should not be able to gain speed and altitude flying at 10 degrees inverted at 2000 meters.

Most definitely it should not gain speed at a faster rate at some points of high altitude.

Nor should it maintain speed / altitude flying 10 degrees up angle while flying inverted.

Now am no aeronautical nor flight expert but this just doesn't make sense ( normal for WG yes ).

Yeah I know it is an ARCADE game just go with it. Right ?

I have even gone into the training room to double check the unrealistic aerodynamics.

Of course what do you expect from a bunch of game developers that know nothing about flying.

No.

That is simply avoiding the ground, which is logical. I thought you were supposed to be "Mr. Logic?"

Uh, you were chief Windowlicker for many months, don't come in here with that [edited]because you're too elite to be a part of a group anymore.

Gouldy

Dity

Gang

Looks like you are the chief windowlicker at 24% & Gang came in second at 18%

Notice Gouldy at 0% windowlicker

But don't forget all the windowlicking you did in other types of planes dity, so you are still at least a 50% windowlicker.

By the looks of it you're still top 3 in windowlicking GouIdy
