No

What he said was rate of climb, that's how many feet or meters you climb per second or per minute.

You're going faster going forward, but your climb rate, (ft/sec or m/sec) slows, your still climbing, just not as fast.

You get the same effect if you climb as a shallower angle of 20-30 deg vs 50 deg.

Yes, precisely.  There's no glitch that provides a magical energy bonus from rolling or flying inverted, you just go faster when you're not gaining altitude as quickly.

I have to do more tests but I was able to climb at a steeper angle with no boost while still gaining speed while inverted that not inverted.

I used to have a handle on life until it broke off.

...because even though your angle was steeper, your actual vertical rate of climb was smaller.  It's an illusion, not magic.

If you do the same test climbing at the same angle, you'll see that you end up at a lower altitude.  Because you weren't climbing as much by flying inverted.

this was something picked up from some old days gone bye jet sims games.  and "corkscrewing" did give a tentative speed boost . But was mostly used to deceive as to which way you where breaking. and as it seems to give you a little more time on the break, and your opponent less time to react the myth was started ,

Still lol every time I see a "bandit" t use it "flying" level :teethhappy:

Problem in this game is there is no real aerodynamics.

I have not been able to test this feature, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if it works a little bit.

A little real life fact, if a jet aircraft wants to accelerate they push the nose down a bit (it means the G factor will become smaller, if he would push it down to zero G the aircraft will accelerate way faster, I am not talking about altitude). At zero G there is less drag, so better acceleration. Of course this is not implemented in this game.

So the question now becomes.

If you are inverted do you gain the same altitude as not inverted.

The real glitch is when you are inverted and on a 5 degree descent... You actually gain boost back faster if you cut your engines and you won't lose speed.  It is all about being inverted.

I usually climb inverted. Not because of a supposed extra glitch where you go faster, but because I use a joystick and it's easier to put the nose down and roll over to level out rather than pushing your nose down to level off while flying right side up.

If you are able to climb at a steeper angle without losing speed when inverted than when not inverted you are climbing faster. This isn't a simulation engine so it really doesn't surprise me.

When I first started and the planes flew differently I would often fly my biplanes inverted for whole match's. it was kind of funny reading the chat comments when you flew by someone like that. Now you can buy a tee shirt that says...."I was inverted":teethhappy:

All tin foil hat theories aside, I always fly upside down because you spot planes below you better when flying inverted.

I tried it and my wing was damaged, think I may have got too close to someone flying inverted. Not once did it tell me to eject.:amazed:

You have to go into settings and disable the stupid mechanic that flips your plane back over
