While i agree with the OP 100% and stated as such in a previous post.

The thing he is forgetting is the inability of WG to roll back to 1.4. When we were all asking for it.

Therefore they are incapable of rolling back the pilot proficiency as it was prior to this patch.

I do believe WG burns all back up disks and data so there is never any going back.

It will take them at least a year to rewrite all that 100 pages of code, if they can even remember what they wrote.

Typical WG - always tries to drive players away while they are just starting to love the game.

Drive ? This is not some run of the mill Grand Theft Auto game. This is WOWP.

WG flies them out of the game with frequent flier miles.

I have apparently wildly underestimated the frequency with which people move pilots to a new plane/start a new pilot.  Either that or forgotten how much angry people yell about something that actually a minor inconvenience.

I do it frequently, as i often sell the plane from the tier i just completed a grind on and move the pilot up to the new plane unless i liked the one i just finished grinding a lot.

and even if i don't sell it, i'll often move the pilot up to the new tier (since i'll be flying that more) and then replace the pilot i moved with one that came from a premium plane i acquired (since they come with a skill point to assign, unlike freshly recruited pilots) - leaving me with TWO pilots that i need to get to 100% proficiency.

So yeah, loss of ability to do proficiency grinding on premium planes does significantly affect me.

Weather or not people think this is a minor complaint or not, WG fundamentally changed a function of something people paid real money for.  Weather or not you use it is your choice, but for those that paid for something that was advertised, it is a kick in the tenders.

How often is "frequently"?

Maybe WG would just like my routing number to make withdrawals whenever they would like instead of cheating us from the xp this game is based on. 75% pilots not making any xp to skills in any plane is total [edited]

Put it back, it represents a sneaky downgrade to previously purchased digital goods.

Pilot skills in WOWP match WOWS model, a beta product, more than WOT.  I would think if they messed with the WOT skills the WOT forums would light up.  Besides WG not holding to the reason to get premium aircraft to begin with, to train pilots, this update is pure Madness. Complete madness.  Why not fix the things people have issues with rather than try new things that will drive even more players away.  Madness.

If the pilot skills in WoWP matches the WoWS one they might have outsourced parts of the development to ships or in other words they share development.

well, as i get more and more planes lines up to tier ten, less often now, tho over xmas i had something like 6 tier upgrades completed, and about half of those with replacement pilots for the tier i just finished grinding (like 9 in a couple weeks i guess) - i would have been SUPER pissed if the current inability to train pilot proficiency on premium planes was not available then.

it matches ships exept that there you can train crew for your ships, and to top it off skills are active on premiums. So there is a real reason to do it. There is no good reason for this at all, other than they hope some fool will spend 300(is that right?) gold to train up a pilot.

Also i use the premiums to train my main pilots, every time i have CW or a tournament or to be honest whenever i paid to use it.

Is there any point in flying premiums now? This is so wack.

So.  Here's the deal.

I purchase premium aircraft here for the same reasons I purchase premium tanks and premium ships.  To make credits and train crew.  They can also generate convertible xp, but I always use that xp to accelerate my crew training.

Now, since patch 1.9.5 premium aircraft can NO LONGER increase base proficiency training.  This represents a major change in product that I have paid money for and I am displeased to say the least.  It's nothing short of bait and switch to change the base functionality of something I have already paid for like this.

Return base proficiency training ability to Warplanes premiums at the earliest convenience.  Not next development cycle; not "soon".  Begin work on it now.

Hope you filed an actual ticket.
