First rule of PC repair:

Replace the power supply.

My wife said if I can make money playing video games, she'd leave me alone, so....

Sounds like what happened to me a few months back. Bad hard drive. I bought a new solid state one that was bigger and much, much faster. Rest of the computer was fine.

That solid drive did it improve the game at all fps etc.

Thanks for the help all. I'm probably going to see how much it costs to fix it at a store.

It did but not by a huge amount. Loads much faster though.

Was thinking of buying one, but I my wells wait now until my HD blows. My average now at a low game settings is 65 fps with 85 to 110 ping.

The SSD is worth it for the boot up time alone, power on to desktop in 5 secs.

SSDs do NOT improve FPS performances. Only load times for applications due to its nature in super fast read/writes.

If you want more fps, look at upgrading your CPU & GPU. Oh and g-sync/free-sync monitors help a lot too.

I noticed a slight improvement but that might be due to other factors. i.e. the computer just works better, period.

Bootable Linux "Ubuntu" from a USB stick...

I always roll with a dual boot system just in case.

Double Spook-cycling issue is taken care of.

Bubba Z- windows 7. I can't remember which model

Marco- the error said Page fault in non paged areas.

MBR issues are the only thing that come to mind if you eliminated memory, PSU and unplugged all necessary USB peripherals...

Depending on the BIOS, its completely possible it has a routine to shutdown your machine after timing out looking for a boo table drive device.  However, this is remote.

Can you boot from a DVD?  The alternate OS / USB boot is also a great troubleshooting technique.

I fixed it a bit ago. Turned out to be a corrupted SSD. Replaced the SSD and loaded windows back on it and now it's good.
