Well, if you do come back, I don't think the place would have changed much...given how stale things are over here in Planes.
In any case, may you be well and succeed with your future endeavors.
I dunno, seems this latest event might be a mere peek into the future....

Thanks Hardstrike, don't fret, I can still be found elsewhere, just not talking about Planes.

For those who fought and lived those moments in history, to the ones who didn't make it home and to the legacy we all experience today, we will never forget

After being away from the game for so long, I am having a rather....interesting time getting used to how to play again. I never have been a "the wins come easy" player, more of the "trial and error, try not to repeat those same mistakes" type, if I can keep my senses during the heat of battle. Luckily for me, things came together during this sortie, such as using the bots on my team as an extension of how I wanted the action to play out (and they cooperated, for a nice change) and reminding myself not to get too mixed up in close quarters action with my frail Kostikov 302, the tier VII premium Soviet Fighter.
The video is more or less my future template, should I continue to make more. All I need is a personal title screen in the opening, to tie it back to me (a work in current progress).

Welcome back, Q!
I liked the vid, but you may want to cut dead-time out of future ones. You don't need to include how long you waited in queue in your videos, unless you'd like to put up your ugly mug () and ham in front of the camera for as long as it takes for the battle to begin. Like in radio, dead air is your enemy when making entertainment videos.

Yeah, now they need to change the in-game voice when we're using those pilots, amirite?

Make mine sound like Kathleen Turner, when she played Jessica Rabbit and....Yeah, going to work on my video editing cuts.

As of right now, my time is split up between returning to World of Warplanes (in a limited capacity), a few other projects and real life. Although I might not have the opportunity to play the game and post here (or the next big thread in a long series of similar threads), I have relaunched my offsite blog. World of Warplanes will be one of those topics I will cover, but not exclusively and making multiple posts on a variety of topics (despite being aircraft related) in different sections of the official forums can be confusing to keep track of and time consuming to find.
Think of it as my one stop thought/comment/opinion/rant/reminisce stop. Just click "The Wild Blue" pictured below to check things out as I get restarted.

Still fine tuning a few things. I believe I have found the format for the videos that I was looking for, including the completed intro sequence. However, I am looking for input to the content of my posts. Would folks rather I double post between here and my blog, or try and do two different things, write one thing in one place (in fact, this post is the very example of that, if you click here....), something else in the other?
Comments and suggestions are always welcome.

There is a reason why I titled this video "Half a Happy Ending." Partly because I accomplished a few inbattle goals, thanks to the opportunity to do so and assured myself a certain talent wasn't too rusty. Sadly, I ignored a really bad decision and raced off to my own fate. Some additional thoughts are here.

While doing some historical research for articles I am posting on my blog, I felt inspired to set a new goal for myself in World of Warplanes. Although I am already at tier VII in the American Fighter line, having the P-51D Mustang collecting dust for....I am not too sure how long now, I have decided to reach even higher. Looking up at the top of the tier list sits the North American F-86A Sabre, just as good as they come, since there isn't a Canadair CL-13 ingame.
In the meantime, better start that journey up that long road ahead....

I don't normally use mods in the games I play, but sometimes, I feel the developers and/or publishers leave out some necessary content that should have been included. In World of Warplanes, there is and always been a serious lack of historical and national identity for some aircraft, outside the their use by the major powers.
Such as Canada.
Currently ingame, there are three distinct flavors of the North American Mustang, American, British and Chinese. However, there isn't a whole lot of "sub-options," like those used by other Commonwealth forces, Post War nations and such.
Not to suggest that WarGaming should start marketing a bunch of "copy-paste" clones, just for the sake of a cash grab or to satisfy the small community who would favor these aircraft. But perhaps, consider creating or giving a little compensation to those players who have crafted "skins," an appearance package that requires a lot of time, attention to detail and overall labor of love.
hawkeyededic, a well known player on the North America server, has created this (take a good look at the top picture). Their rendering of a P-51D from the 443 "City of New Westminster" Squadron, circa Fall 1951, is nothing short of breathtaking. Comparing that image to the one just above, one can see a great deal of time and eye straining focus to detail went into the end result.
For my journey to the top of the tier list, I made the decision to install and try out this new livery and put some Canadian flavor into the game....
