Has anyone flown the new french C.714 enough to have an opinion on it yet?

i haven't flown it but it is awful vs the He 100. only thing better is HP and guns and to me; those things matter very little.

HP: decent

Guns: for me they would be awesome (i <3 MG)

Airspeed: tolerable

maneuverability: above average

EDIT: actualy awful against an HS 129 B for that matter.

I'll give an opinion as soon as mine arrives in the hangar.

It's in the hangar now, and have flown a few battles. It's a weak plane, but not intolerable. Initial feeling is that it loses energy rather quickly, much similar to maybe an I-16 in that tier (4). To sum it up, I think it will prove to be a mediocre premium, at best.

I think the gun works ok in tier 4. I'm not getting it. A low tier prem plane doesnt serve any good for me

Divide price by 10 to make pricing fair. Like, who is going to buy a tier 4 plane at 33 dollars! LOL, I can buy a full game for that much. Also, it's for the french line which is non-existent and only tier 4.

I agree it is overpriced for what it is. But they do throw in some gold and silver which actually make the cost of the plane all by itself quite a bit smaller. If you don't want or need the gold and silver, makes it pricey.

probably, they are offering it more for the plane collector rather than the air to air combat experts.

So far I'm enjoying it. Only had 4 battles (blowouts 50/50), but I really, really like the way it handles. The low firepower rating hasn't been an issue for me... seems to take down opponents much easier than the He 100. I love the good speed + maneuverability. It's a sharp looking machine, and the camo paint schemes look great. This plane is pretty much right up my alley in almost every way.

:great::great:

::two thumbs up::

The French pilots on the EU server are pissed because we get the planes before they do.

What an odd looking plane! The French GA NC 1070 is odd looking too! Is that going to be a trademark of the French line?

Well despite being aghast at the cost of a tier4 premium my wowp addiction eventually compelled me

to get the little frenchie and try it for myself.  Reading the history of the plane is very funny, the french wanted

a cheap to manufacture plane to compete with the bf109, so like the mosquito and Yak 1 the C.174 was

made of wood, however it was a complete failure.  The plane was designed for one specific engine which turned

out to be a dud and the wings were too weak to mount any guns or payload, and unlike the messerschmitt

company they did not think to copy the idea of a nose firing cannon, it was intended to have two cannons.

So it was a bug ridden plane with an unreliable underperfoming engine, weak structure and pea shooter weapons.

The French quickly cancled there order and sold the 90 manufactured planes to the desperate and underattack Finland

and Poland who quickly grounded the plane and took it out of service.  The few captured by the germans were used as trainers.

Like the Attacker, Bf110 and Me410 luckily in game the C.174 is a joy and fly's very well.  Its good overall and holds its own against

good pilots in other tier 4 planes.  The only downside are the guns, which anyway are not the worst in its tier.  Unlike the unfortunite

Fins and Poles who were equipped with it mine will be seeing alot more action:)

Just purchased this aircraft; two thumbs up! Fast, turns well and firepower is fine for tier 4

so i flew it last night. not a bad plane for sure, tho i doubt any will ever consider it epic. the sustained fire and accuracy of the the MGs make up for the lack of firepower numbers for the aircraft.

basically it is a capable aircraft, but you are never going to consistently carry a match in it alone against multiple opponents. reminds me of a cross between a Fantome and a He 100 in terms of what it can do. reasonably happy to have it, but it isn't an OP wonder that i would kick myself for not having later either.

didn't fly it enough to say more than that yet

I bought it  every time an enemy was spotted the dang thing would go on auto pilot and run back to base past all the American planes as fast as it could...
