Just for giggles, I bought a TSH-2 which has a rear a gunner. The problem is, I can see how to control it? I am using a Thrustmaster joy stick, checked the settings tab in the game and see nothing in there. Any suggestions?

Tailgunners fire automatically. The skill comes in getting the enemy within the TGer's limited firing arc. Show your ***, as it were.

The rear gunner will start shooting when you have a plane in it' s sector.

He who must not be named whose stereotype about skill and ground attackers is well known among those who frequently visit this forum community became an icon.
Personally I think tailgunners should be buffed a bit. Maybe a new skill or two. I mean, once you buy the best tail gun and have the tailgunner trained to 100%, then 100% view range, then 100% long reach , then 100% crack shot...what else is there to do?
You can't really improve the TGer after that. I have several planes with a "max" TG, would be cool if I could make him better somehow.
Happy Birthday Yshoneist!
Glad to see you're enjoying the new red pen you got as a gift.
I send my tail gunner a text*** and he starts shooting like a madman.

I want to teach my tailgunner sign language.
Thanks for all the great advise. I thought I was going to be able to control my rear gunner because in flight sim games I had in the past, I was able to. When I was not able to, thus my question.. Its all good, thanks for the information.
I only bought this plane for fun, I remember getting shot down a lot back in the tier 2 by these planes and thought it would be a good distraction from the more intense higher tier planes I usually fly.
Imagine my surprise when I first flew the TSH-2 last night, this sled wont turn, wont climb. I'm thinking I'm dead meat but I do have a tail gunner which I can control.
Nope, he's asleep at the stick.
Seems like I'm going to have to suffer a bit more before he becomes responsive, I want to thank everyone for their input.

Whiskey, I have to agree with your comment about not needing any skill to hit with a tail gunner but I have found that its not real easy to be successful with it either.
Since I cant turn real well, I find myself watching my back side more then my front. Then I have to figure out, from what angle the bad guys are coming from and at what altitude, then position my plane into the tail gunner cone of fire. At the same time watch for any straight on incoming targets, then make quick decisions as to which one is the greater threat. One nice thing about the TSH 2 and 3 is the heavy forward fire power these planes have. If I can get a tier 2-4 bot to fly straight at me, I'm going to hurt him bad and get an assist or take him out in one pass. A knowledgeable real person, will realize what I am flying and turn away and take a side run at me, those are the ones that has me searching with my hat switch to find out his intentions. I prefer to fly fighters, but I'm using these planes as a learning tool for situational awareness and I'm quickly gathering experience points so I can purchase a tier 5 plane so I can get into the training program my flight team offers once you are that level. Since my available flight time is limited due to family concerns,Im finding this a great learning tool..

While the TSh-2 doesn't offer ordinance, the TSh-3 has 4x 50kg bombs that work just great for taking out tier 2-4 planes. Bomb killing is an artform, but it is easily learned in the TSh-3. (example below)
edit: If you get lucky, you can do it like this too:

Hey Zap, interesting vids you posted up.. Think I'm going to have to look into that .
Question, your game name is interesting ? How did you come about it?
Why I'm asking is this,,when I was in the Army during the VietNam era, my nickname was Zap or Zapper because I was the units Aircraft electrician for my attack helicopter company. For 5 years, I don't think my company's CO or anyone else knew my real name.
