Welcome to another addition of Warplanes Wednesday, where I bring attention to rare, unique or just left out aircraft not featured in the game currently and give it the spotlight for all to talk about and enjoy.

This week is a French fighter that was just shy of being innovative, its the D.500!

The Dewoitine D.500 was an all-metal, open-cockpit, fixed-undercarriage monoplane fighter aircraft, used by the French Air Force in the 1930s. Introduced in 1936, the design was soon replaced by a new generation of fighter aircraft with enclosed cockpits and retractable undercarriage, including the 510's successor, the Dewoitine D.520.

"Did you know there are three kind of aces? Those who seek strength. Those who live for pride. And those who can read the tide of battle. Those are the three." - Larry "Pixy" Foulke (Ace Combat Zero)
