I finally figured out training pilots in premium planes.  I am looking for a budget American plane to train some of my current and soon-to-be pilots.  I don't have 10,000+ gold to spend.

Given those constraints, I have qualified, the XP-50, the XFL-1 and the XF4U-1 what do you great sages of WOWP recommend?

I am looking to train heavy, light and multi-role pilots.  I have the YP-29 won through the last wheel of fortune and I am using that to train my P-47 line pilots and I like that plane.  I also have the Model 81-A and that plane is so lameass lamey lame in guns I hate flying it.  Probably going to put that pilot in barracks and just keep the plane so I never have a chance of winning it again.

So...  what are your recommendations?  Again, budget, no XP-58 for me at this time.

The high tier you go the more xp you earn. Go for the highest tier premium you can afford, the xp58 makes tons of cash and experience but if you cannot afford nor want to save up then you could go tier 7 xp75. That being said I dislike the 75 as all heavies suffer in that tier as LF's are stronger. This brings you to the xp50 which is a good heavy in its tier, I enjoy flying mine a lot. ..outturn all other heavies. This is what I would suggest to meet your parameters.

I've had good luck in the XP-50, not so much the XF4U-1. The XFL-1 is (or at least, was) dreadful.

I would definitely take the xp50 over the xp75.  The xp50 is super competitive in tier 6.

Undefeated 1st place, Clantastrophy tournament

Air Raid 6  3rd place,  Air Raid 7  2nd place, Air Raid 8 1st place

What Bobo said but yeah the XP-50 would be what I would pick but wow the XP-58 prints silver and xp I had a 7 kill game and made 298k silver and 10k xp and not even a x2 well worth it.

Sneaking up on your six.....................

XF4u is my favorite amongst those.  Second I would say XP-75, I have always had a good experience with it personally, though it does have it's weaknesses.  The only one I don't like amongst those named is the XP-58, which feels too clunky to me and has rather poor handling, and I don't think your missing out on much there.

Please apply dirt, rocks and trees to your aircraft sparingly.

I have this theory that loudly ticking clocks can be wound with massive blunt objects.  By striking the clock with great force the energy would transfer into the gears, not unlike winding it.   I plan on testing this someday.

XP-50 is really, REALLY good these days.  It's essentially a HF killer, been enjoying mine quite a bit.  XP-75 was once a favorite but it's really tricky now.  XP-58 has been somewhat over-nerfed.  Because it has a TG you can train for Tutor it's still good for training pilots if that's the only goal, but otherwise not as much fun as it once was and not worth the asking price IMHO.

XF4U-1 is still decent if you want to save a little coin, but not what it used to be in my opinion.

I would say any of the following are decent:

1. XP-50

2. XP-58

3. XF4U

Stay the [edit] away from the XFL-1, at least until they decide to unnerf its speed retention.

How about if Wargaming threw an Premium aircraft SALE?  Maybe that might even help morale a bit.  Look at all the TANKS on SALE.

XP-75 is one of my faves, I just get up high, and dive when I can't out-spin 'em. Love the guns, too.
