Would the Canadian built Avro Arrow be too advanced for a premium tier X? If i'm correct it was produced in the mid/late'ish 50's but a great historic plane.

Never had forward facing...actually no guns at all but we shouldn't let a little historical facts get in the way;)

And it was still in development so who knows, it could had ended-up with guns. Like 10 Vulcan cannons? ; )

Well if the Arrow idea sells i will definitely buy it : )

Wonderful plane that could have changed the world. Way too advanced for the scope of this game though. More like a tier 12 or 13 compared to current tier 10s.

Darn, had the impression it was too advanced. It's cruising speed was just under mach 1. It's max speed was predicted to be over mach 2 if it would had made it to full production. Bust the limit big time!

Worth watching from the point selected until the closing credits.

love to fly it, i know we won't

no mach 2 planes will be in the game, and nothing with primary armaments of guided missiles.

I think that is about the only thing they have been clear about.

No for the reasons people have given...also the Arrow was a pure interceptor...it has no multi-role capacity and was not a dog-fighter...it flew fast and straight to intercept bombers...people up here in Canada make a big deal of this plane which was indeed a high tech wonder but, to be brutally practical, the F101 Voodoo could also fly fast enough to catch a bomber and lob a missile at it and could do so for a fraction of the cost...the Arrow was overkill given its limited role

Only the CF-100 would work in this game.  Maybe a premium canadair Sabre at some long distance soon point of time, though they don't do premium tier X's so nix that idea.

There are some good ideas for Canadian planes though....the version of the F86 license built in Canada was probably the best Sabre variant...and then there is that strange little biplane built by Canadian Car and Foundry...

I think most the planes in this game (if not all, I dont know for sure) had their "first flight" in the 40's.  As I lookup the tier X's that seems to be a similarity, so perhaps that is the threshold?

(edit - well, I guess the Javelin first flight was in 1951, but so far that seems to be the only exception)...so maybe its "development in the 40's".

I'm in the process of creating a skin for the Avro Arrow.  It will be applied to the Javelin though... best I can do.

I never lose; either I win or I learn.
