It has taken this long for me to respond since ye Band of Flying Tank Brothers see fit to make sure myself or anyone else who speaketh out against thy Mighty IL, gets restricted.

You are in a T6 fighter VS. T5 IL.      I have asked over and over for vid of a T5 light fighter taking out a healthy T6 IL or a T6 light fighter taking out a healthy T7 IL.  Is that so hard ?

I decided to raise the bar for your challenge. How about a Tier 5 Light Fighter (Spitfire I) taking out a full health Tier 7 Attack Aircraft (IL-8) without losing ANY hp?

As additional punishment, you get to watch it in first person, exactly as I see it when I play.

Now, will you please stop with your inaccurate droning about ILs? Thanks.

:honoring:

Very nice video, from a great pilot, make that a great video!

Great planes, great pilots, make great games well done.

Glad you did this for Mr. light fighter, he was not worth it for me.

Well he has that spitfire, but not the skill to fly it as you do.

So now he will make more excuses to cover his bad flying.

Just like the IL-2 (mod) that was gifted to him all excuses.

Hammy was so kind, and he won't fly it, what a shame.

Don't want to play devil's advocate here but the P38 did do some damage (not much) and soaked up all the tail gunners fire.  Not saying you wouldn't have killed him otherwise, I know you would have.  :izmena:

Yup, 38 did a lot, so still takes no skill

I'd say that part of the skill of being a fighter in this kind of IL take down is just that; tag teaming with another friendly fighter to either spread the damage out or avoid it being put on a damaged or lower tier aircraft who wouldn't be able to take it.  I remember many times back in the days of three man flights ACES_ or another group of three good pilots would do just that; set up shop on my tail outside of bomb range and just pepper away while taking turns at being the "target".

Very true that the TG had it in for the P-38, but the P-38 did little damage to the IL. Also I chose to make it a 2 tier spread instead of a 1 tier as was requested. A big part of this game involves coordinated attacks on enemy. While the P-38 and myself never communicated, I think we both realized that double-teaming the IL would be advantageous. Remember the original request before you pick apart the video:  I have asked over and over for vid of a T5 light fighter taking out a healthy T6 IL or a T6 light fighter taking out a healthy T7 IL.  Is that so hard ?  No qualifiers like, you must be the only 2 planes in the vicinity and you have to be circling enemy AA very low. So, I think I satisfied the request as it was made.

Hi ya Zapper again great job on that IL very nicely done!

What you did not do is tailgate the rear and let your guns overheat.

What you did was great teamwork, and let your guns cool down between passes.

What our problem child can not, and will not do, and may not ever be able to do!

The back end of an IL gives you a 15 to 25 % target.

The side of an IL gives you a 25 to 45 % target.

The top of an IL gives you a 45 to 75 % target.

So Zapper showed everyone how it should, and could be done, great job!

If you die from a bomb or tail gunner kill when your guns overheat, we will just laugh.

The entire argument is about " it takes no skill to win in an IL "

AKA I am not smart enough to defeat IL's when they are in game and they always win.

This example shows how a team outsmarts an IL-8 with out the benefit of communication ( team speak )

The IL-8 loses. The question is does it lose from lack of skill ?

What basic COMMON SENSE and intelligent maneuver does this video show.

" coordinated attack "

Staying out of the tail gunner line of fire

The first attack is down then Zap peels off out of the angle of tail gunner fire or bomb drop and re-engages.

Gun over heats and he peels off down and low out of TG fire then re-engages.

What mistake did the IL-8 make.  " He turned ".

Excellent video against any argument of " it takes no skill to win in an IL "

Heck yesterday I took out  4 GA's : IL-10, IL-8, 2 IL-2(t)s  in my BF109z because they all wanted to dog fight.

would of had an ACE of 5 GA's if someone had not gotten a kill.

It was a 5 vs 5 match ( 2 ga/ 2 fighters/ 1 heavy versus 2 IL-10 / IL-8 / 2 IL-2(t) )

The IL dies of lack of skill, it is called situational awareness !

He should never have been at that position, at this time of battle, so he dies !!

It takes "skill" to use an IL !!

LOL.....a million in one kill.......still an impressive kill no doubt......try it with .303 like I use.  The 38 did help out.  HOWEVER, it still.....takes NO skill....to win in an IL

You know whats funny.

Saw him on a Yak 7 trying to gain altitude, way above his altitude....or was it an LA 7.

either way the entire enemy team stayed over their area...even the ILs

4 vs 4...we all went straight in and destroyed them all NO FRIENDLIES WERE INJURED.

He was dead in a stall 2 minutes into the match. Didn't stand a chance. Neither did the IL-20 trying to dog fight.

Took no skill to win that match. IT was definitely a seal clubbing match.

The IL series is my favorite target in a light fighter, approach it right and they're generally not hard, just takes a few passses.

They are however almost invincible if you take them head on.

Texthor, I have to ask, if the IL really doesn't take skill to win with them, why aren't you flying them?
