Out of curiosity why is the fog of war not being used in this tournament?

The room creator would be able to see the planes of the opposing team as they are in the centre queue, so it is an unfair advantage for the home team.

I see. More reason for WG to walk a few desk over and grab the "Special Battle" code from Tanks and walk back over to their desk and upload it. Since we share servers with Tanks they could probably just copy it from the tanks folder into the planes folder.

Fog of war would definitely balance the tournament out thats for sure.

WoWP Developers and WoT developers are in different areas, and coding isn't that easy unfortunately. WoWP does not have the Fog of War function, or anything like that really.

This is all true, but doesn't change that your success in this game would be drastically different if you had half the events you had in tanks. Weekly tournaments in Special Battle rooms would cause a rise in population even with clientside active.

It can't be that difficult to alter the code to be functional in the WoWP hangar, even if it doesn't have teh functionality to limit tiers and plane counts just yet.

Fog of war Ghostprime! THAT'S WHAT WE WANT!!!! WOOO!

To give everyone an opportunity to participate..

Frankly, if you STILL don't have a tier 6 in a game that has been out for over a year, you probably aren't the right choice for a competitive tournament. People had tier x in week 1.

Tier 6lol

And just to be fair, there are many players who have only been playing for a month or two, who just might want to participate, and tournaments on a more regular basis is a means of retaining these players, don't ya think?

I have added a small section describing the role of the team captain as well as what to do if the team captain can not be present.

Refer to section 2.1.14 on page 4. Highlighted blue.

On a side note.... where is everyone? There was a lot of interest in the tournaments that gunlion was supposed to be running, so far we have had two teams contact us to register.  There was a bit of feedback once we posted the announcement, but none if it was a showstopper.  Hoping teams will start to file in.

Kpop and marco, I hope you see where this is already headed. The first things people said, in order:

1. Tiers are too low.

2. Admins should not play due to the amount of disputes there will be.

3. WG staff plans to rule on disputes.

4. Asking for a rewording of the requirements.

5. Complaint about the roster rules.

6. Complaint about the team selection.

Welcome to CCW 3.0?

Unbelievable.

in all fairness this tournament has human beings in it, so it is expected that people will complain before it starts.

This is the tournament they put together, if the rules are not to your liking i am sure there are other tournaments you could join".

Honesty, some things like minor details are great to mention, but suggestions like turning this into a Random battle tournament are not. You want a completely different style tournament create it yourself.

Oh and admins can participate with rules as well thought out as these, if one of the admins runs foul of the rules then the other admins need to step in and judge based on the rules. Only time you will run into trouble is with suspensions but these don't really exist for us, default or no would be the most common ruling and

Great job kp and Marco and anyone else, you have your s**t together and it shows!

You got me to re-install for this so thank you very much!

Tier 6 being the pick "to allow more people to play" makes no sense at all.  If that were the only consideration, a lower tier would have made much more sense. Maybe "highest tier we thought would work while still drawing a decent amount of skilled players" or something like that is probably a more accurate assessment of why the tier was chosen.

For my two cents, the format is a lot of hoop jumping for nothing.  Tier 6 is tier 6, and the plane imbalances are well known, so I think the teams are all going to end up looking the same (again).

Dreaming of better days.  When this game had full matches, fiery dogfights, and hope for the future.

Sure, but they won't be all high altitude planes.
