I agree this seems like piling on but what else are we to do.

I played for a couple of hours on Saturday.  Couldn't believe I was seeing 420-450 players online.  Like, that's it?  On a holiday weekend with 5X and some other really nice specials?  I got one 7-7 match and the rest were 3-3 or 4-4.  Very disappointed.  Felt like the population was so small that nobody knew/cared that the specials were even going on.

The problem is two fold.  One: actual problems with the game, Two: the perception of problems with the game.  Fix the problems, then fix the perception.  Up until now there's been a lot of emphasis on cute things that didn't help the fundamentals of game play.  That should be fixed first.  Then, fix the problems of the perception.

Neither will be easy but both can be done.  If WG can make something as popular and successful as WOT, then they can make WoWP a success too.

What's sad is watching Victor's video is they thing the problem with warplanes is the 3 dimensional playing area that people can't figure it out.  Who is he talking with to fill his head with this nonsense.

I'm no WG apologist, but the evidence of this being true is apparent in just about every match I play. How often do you see someone shooting at a plane from 3,000+ feet away, lawn darting, rear-ending an IL, or lining up on a target improperly? In many cases this attributable to two dimensional thinking. Never under estimate the stupidity of the general public. The better you grasp it, the harder it will be for you to understand why so many cannot.

I think WG has nothing but apathy for wowp. I'd guess its reached the pitch where they look at it as a waste of man power to do anymore large scale development on this game. They've moved on. I hope they revisit it some day but I'm not holding my breath.

Well, x5 weekend or not the Fourth isn't the best weekend to model population numbers. A lot of people go out of town, or just plain go out, over the holiday weekend and are consequently not in game. Myself included on this one.

One thing people seem to be missing in terms of the hits to server populations here and in WoT is the fact that there are a lot of active games right now. Obviously WG has had to deal with trying to retain people from going to WT, and now with AW in Early Access they have another game to worry about. Most of us realize this and have known about this for months.

What some of us fail to realize is that with the release of Warships into Open Beta, WG is actually competing with itself. I've noticed drastically reduced numbers in my clan recently in WoT, and WoT general server populations. People are trying out Warships instead of playing WoT or WoWp. Most of us don't have the time for more than one series of matches in one game

According to Rita they've officially considered it a failure. Here's to hoping they release a news bulletin with their plans for the game, and here's to hoping further that they even keep the game.

With all the bitchin and moaning thats gone on(on all 3 servers) you gotta think that if they had some good news to report, then they would report it. Since they have not, I'm inclined to believe there isn't any.

Unfortunately that's my thought as well, that things have come to a head. Which means now WG will have to decided what to do with it. Which is why I said "Here's to hoping they release a news bulletin with their plans for the game, and here's to hoping further that they even keep the game."

Rita, and SS are known to have a anti WOWP bias. They caused quite a ruckus over here a month or so ago with a article that had to be correctly translated.

Turned out not as bad as they advertised to sum it up.

I think WG is just waiting for some new patches to hit. Clan wars, if implemented, will be the start of a new advertising campaign. Remember, E-sports is where its at, and getting it running in wowp may be a priority. Or maybe not.

They could hire any remotely active player on the NA server to manage the products development and get better results than they are now.

the reality of things most active players would option out to restart it from the glory days , apply the good stuff ( new engine and some characteristics)

bring back the old damage models ( being able to shoot wings out , collisions)

add some end game to this sucker and it would be vastly superior than what it is now.

Honestly I would do a full revision on the game on WoWP 2.0 and re-launch it.

Well what I meant by that sentence was not her opinion, but actually an answer by Viktor Kislyi from one of their Q&A sessions, unfortuantely.

Hi Ghost! I didn't realize the mods were cross-platform, i thought they stayed in their own respective games. Nice to see you here, thanks for pushing through with us!

Every day.

That's crazy, everyone else I know to include myself every conversation has 3 categories.

Happy

Pissed

Emotional

Happy cause someone did something for them

Pissed because someone did not do something for them

Emotional because someone may or may not have did something for them but the action directly resulted in some sort of undesired effect because she read into the situation in the wrong way.

If your wife brings more to the table than that in terms of conversation, i am impressed and you have successfully nullified my metaphor. The point was, in NA we are merely a married couple who stop by here everyday to talk about the weather, the stuff that pissed us off today, and what we think everyone should be doing that they're not. To expect something different means you A. don't spend much time here or B. Have the majority of the forum on ignore.

I have been around a long time with World of Warplanes. Not always on the forums, sometimes in the background, sometimes talking to everyone on here. I do remain hopeful for this product, and that sometimes could be a difficult thing, there have been ups and downs I am positive about it, in the end that's why we are all here. :honoring:

Really?

Im not here to hope....  Im here to PUSH for a change...  Push for things that will GROW our population...  If all we are going to do is sit around and HOPE then we have already failed.  Doing things to draw back those that have left will mean listening, communicating and most importantly being a advocate!  Hope is for the people that are playing other games while they check in to see if WoWp has finally come around....

I can go into things the community wants but Im sure you already know.  What we need is a prioritized list of the changes we want and a "status report" of where its at.  The development process is a difficult thing to estimate completion of...  I know...  But if we at least knew the issues and pitfalls we could better understand why we are where we are.....  Hope involves faith...  Faith is earned and lost threw actions....  My hope reserves are gone...

I want some butts!  :P
