I agree this seems like piling on but what else are we to do.
I played for a couple of hours on Saturday. Couldn't believe I was seeing 420-450 players online. Like, that's it? On a holiday weekend with 5X and some other really nice specials? I got one 7-7 match and the rest were 3-3 or 4-4. Very disappointed. Felt like the population was so small that nobody knew/cared that the specials were even going on.
The problem is two fold. One: actual problems with the game, Two: the perception of problems with the game. Fix the problems, then fix the perception. Up until now there's been a lot of emphasis on cute things that didn't help the fundamentals of game play. That should be fixed first. Then, fix the problems of the perception.
Neither will be easy but both can be done. If WG can make something as popular and successful as WOT, then they can make WoWP a success too.
