TFE, Change of Command:

" The art of progress is to preserve order amid change and to preserve change amid order "

I am going in for surgery soon and don't know how long I will be down. For the good of The Fighting Eagles, I am standing down and accepting a TFE  Reserve position.

I shall maintain our Website and retain ownership of it, I do plan to return to WoWP's  when I can give it my full attention. My Fighting Eagles deserve no less.....

I am placing WhiskeyInYourWater, In the number 1 spot as Acting Commanding Officer. She shares my beliefs and has helped me forge TFE to be what it is today.

I have no doubt she will bring great ideas and enthusiasm to The Fighting Eagles. That's my girl and don't you ever forget it!!!

One great American president, Harry S. Truman lived by this " The Buck Stops Here. " He was absolutely right.....

Command is the single most important element of a squadron. No other element, function... Is more important.

Our success is totally dependent upon the quality of our leaders... Those in positions of command, must command authority.

When that position of command is as the commanding officer. Responsibility, Authority and Accountability become absolute.

How a commander handles the pressure of command reflects the character of all who serve in that command.

There is a famous painting of the signing of the Declaration of Independence hanging in the White House. It is interesting to me and unusual that for some reason the Artist never finished it.

Many of the figures in the background are only sketched in. This brings to mind a profound truth.... Perhaps the painting is not finished because our fight is not yet over, nor will it ever be.

I view this as a changing of the guard. (so to speak)

There is no doubt that there is strength within TFE.

The strength of TFE is in its dedicated personnel, and as such this makes for a strong team.

The personnel assigned to TFE are a great example of what it means to be Fighting Eagles.

Vix

Well, the heck with the good looking nurses. Now, it's the good looking patient that every guy in the hospital will want to see. :great:

Hope the best for you, Vix, and hope you get to return soon after you've had a chance to mend.

May your surgery go well and have you back in action soon. God bless and keep you in his hand always.. CJ

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds -
and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of -
wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence.
Hovering there I've chased the shouting wind along
and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

"Up, up the long delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace,
where never lark, or even eagle, flew;
and, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
the high untrespassed sanctity of space,
put out my hand and touched the face of God."   John Gillespie Magee, Jr.
