Since there is a perceived problem in controlling the forum Spam, the most simple way to raise the minimum battle amount to 300 in order to post. I know this seems a Draconian way of doing things, but it will saves everyone's time by this process. Or limit the Newcomer's forum to 20 battles and everything else to 300. Automate the clean up WG! Limit you liabilities.

The only problem is, if someone starts, plays one game, then crashes, we will not be able to help them.

If they raise the battle requirement to anything above zero it would exclude not only the most prolific poster in the forum but also much of the WG staff.

Unless they do it by battles played in beta as well and exclude WG staff accounts from this system.

Yes, the beta part is so that I can still post. You wouldn't want me to go away now would you? Besides, spammer accounts cannot have any battles in beta unless they rise from the grave, and even at that point there's a limited amount of accounts that have battles in beta.

You guys have valid points. Any suggestions on how to improve the situation?

WOT has a minimum of 10 battles.  To enter the Halloween story contests on the WOT forums, I had to scramble to play tanks.

Seems fair, I have been suggesting this for weeks.

10 battles everywhere but the off topic and bugs sections sounds reasonable to me.

Wait.  You mean we need to moderate the forums for WGNA?  We haven't had issues like this before....  Instead of ideas that limit the ability of new players to learn and become part of our community....   Would it not be better to simply expect WGNA employees simply do there job?

not that i have much confidence in the WOWP Dev crew, but the level of irritation towards them is hilarious.

There's a much more obvious and straightforward solution though.

It's free to play:

300 battles is not an excessive number.  I've only been playing since 1 March.  I think I flew 300 the first week or so

The concern over having a battle count threshold for posting in the forum is cutting off the new players who have questions/issues because they can't get the game to work or potential players who may want to ask a question before playing. If WG arranges the forum to allow one thread for "no-battle" players to post in (multiple posts in xx time frame not allowed), and an inability to create new threads until after their xxth post (and maybe xx battles too), it would go a long way toward making the forum look less hacked if the poster was limited to 1 thread and only a couple of posts.

Some forums I have been on in the past delayed your posts for approval by a moderator. Five sounds about right.

Well, that has the issue of the third party mods not knowing the game and their habit of modding posts that they take out of context.

For a video game designer, feedback on a new players first 30 minutes of gameplay is extremely critical.  Not a lot of folks  post to the forums, so I would hate to see those who take the time to do so not be able to.

I say a minimum of 1 battle you can post in the newbie thread, but takes a few more to post in other topics.
