There is rumor and speculation on the RU WoWP forum saying that update 1.8 will introduce the French tree (rumor early 2015). Some of the RU pilots have already arranged and suggested the tech tree for fighters, heavies and GAA's. They are talking about it on their WoWP forums. I was impressed by the RU OP research. Below are the links and suggested tiers:

Fighters

Spoiler

Heavy

Spoiler

GAA

Spoiler

Note: It seems the original OP (RU WoWP OP) is having problems with the heavy tree with so many choices for mid tier in heavies.

You know I was to argue about the French as the next line but then I saw this:

tier 8 - FMA I.Ae. 27 Pulqui

I don't care anymore just bring them now!!!  Yes, I'm Argentinian

Spoiler

( yes, yes I know this are just speculations but I can dream) .

I know somewhere on this forum our clan leader j3llyfish has a "what the french tree could look like" thread amongst the ones for other nations. Will also say though I'd almost be surprised if the entire tech tree was French fighters and aircraft in general. I get that they have blueprint designs and all, but I'd more expect you'd see somewhere in that tier 5-7 range aircraft of other nations that were piloted by free French pilots. But WG finds some seemingly obscure designs and all, so who knows.

I bumped J3llyfish's French tree proposals to the top of the Suggestions forum. Interesting planes. It looks like the fighters are more historically relevant, but I want French HF's just cause I want another HF line.

I don't know if people on the NA would grumble about french prototypes/not very often used planes being released before important US lines or not?

I would, because the Italian line was also relevant and there were almost no French fighter aircraft after 1942 as compared to the Italians. Just sayin' :hiding:

Nice list.  The only thing Id say is you are 1 tier off (fighters).  I think the tier Dassault MD.452 Mystere II is getting a bit too modern as most planes in this game have their first flight in the 40's.  The Javelin appears to be an exception to that rule.

If you bump your tier 9 to 10 and then add a plan in the tier 3/4 area I think that would be great.

Or Japanese... I think they are doing french because more french people play this game than Italians, and people have nationalistic leanings. I mean, look how much the MiG line has taken off here on the NA. People don't really talk about them or play them that often. If they did a grumman line instead, you bet there would be all sorts of discussion and excitement over it.

I still think an international fighter tree would be the way to go. That way players from Czech, Romanian, Swedish, and Dutch backgrounds could have their historical planes represented.

I'm sold on the French tree...though maybe because the D520 is just my kind of airplane....a turn and burner with a cannon and good speed....also the VG 33 easily matches the spitfire and 109

but faster backwards.

But seriously, with the fall of France they are going to have a hard time coming up with Tier 5 through 8. Then you are in to Mirages and stuff.

The Dewoitine, Arsenal and Bloch lines all have designs that go to tier 7 at least

The french had reasonably detailed plans for developing their fighters and even the German continued work on some of them

the tier IV French light fighter should be the Moraine-Saulnier 406/410, without question, even if it doesn't fit in the direct real-world Dewoitine line of development... no way the MS410 should be a heavy fighter.
