Can a player GIFT a fellow player GOLD.  If so ... please advise as to how to do so.

In the store, select the amount of gold you want to send as gift. A window opens below the amount and there you'll see a checkbox with the option "Send as gift". Then, you'll see a text field with pulldown menu with all your in-game contacts. You can also send the gift to other persons not in your contact list by just typing his/her nickname on that field.

 

When you send the gift, the recipient will receive an email from WG with the subject along the lines of "XXXX sent you a gift" and he/she must click on the link provided in that email. When the gift is received, you'll receive a confirmation email in your inbox.

Does the GOLD have to be a NEW purchase ... or ... can it be transferred from my own account ?

The gold has to be a new purchase. You can't transfer any assets from your account to another (planes, gold coins, silver coins, etc.)

Also, when you send a gift to another player, please inform him/her that they will need to sign into the Portal (http://worldofwarplanes.com/) and manually accept or decline the gift.
The Gold doesn't go immediately to the player's account after the purchase is completed.
If a gift is not accepted within 30 days, it will automatically return to the account of the person who bought the gift.

I wish we could transfer gold to our Clan Treasury. Either buy or transfer... Can that be done in future ?

What a great idea to have a clan account for the teams that could be held until needed for weekend events or used when needing to grind for a particular aircraft or mod . looks like the clans will have a new Officer spot open , CGAO clan gold account officer...even if wowp had to suspend the auto expiration of the gold for a clan type account it would still be selling gold . should be a win win. This has been a great week for the forums ,have been seeing some great ideas and a bit of easing of negative comments . Big  Salute to everyone from  Rare
