Para mí, esto está entre lo mejorcito, una "versión libre" de las pocas que superan a la original

Sí, hombre. Concuerdo. Siempre cantó con mucho "feeling" y se distinguía de los demás por el timbre y lo áspero de su voz. Era principalmente cantante de covers, pero sus versiones generalmente superaban por mucho a las originales. Esa canción que puse, por cierto, fue la primera que escuché en un CD hace más de 20 años y me impactó mucho la claridad, jeje. En esos tiempos había unidades reproductoras de CD que eran como los DVDs de hoy, sólo que los conectabas a la salida auxiliar del estéreo.

I saw him perform twice in the early 70's. The raw emotions and singing were unforgettable.  I don't think there was a dry eye in the house when he sang "You are so beautiful."

I can imagine, Chris. At least in Mexico at that time we were only aware of him by the songs and albums that came from the US. I can only imagine one of his live shows. rest in Peace and Godspeed!
