Kind of sad. They all had their own stories and their all just sitting in a junkyard. Kind of mind blowing to think about.

Also, those pilots were some good artists

Been there once as a kid.....that was a truly inspiring afternoon in the Arizona desert. My grandfather flew B-24s out of Italy, and his brother in law flew P-38s out of England. I grew up on their stories, and walking with my grandfather amongst all of those old warbirds, sitting all alone in the desert....it was like making a pilgrimage and I was walking on sacred ground.

I could feel the presence of all of those pilots and crewmen all around me, and I was simply struck speechless.

Not even sure if that old boneyard is still there or not.

Thanks for posting this, it brought back a lot of memories for me. You made my evening.

Peace,

War

Its slightly better at least then a junkyard as they are kept intact till their scrapped. As some are actually literally there just for storage, the desert makes it so they don't corrode as fast. They actually could bring some of the aircraft back to operational status in time of need.

And it should still be there warchylde, though whats in it at this time, I have no clue.

Here is a more updated video, focusing on the boneyard near Tucson, AZ, where the USAF salvages and recycles out of service airframes for parts.
