Maybe the prize is that the winners get to eat the cake they baked.  :great:

Block Quote

1st Place    Nvidia GTX 7620 Graphics Card

Is that a typo?  Pretty sure there's no such animal as Nvidia 7620...?  Should be either AMD or else a different number...

The one thing that has always bugged me is why they(Wargaming) want a picture of it being made. I understand that it's supposed to help ensure the person made it for the contest, but I could have taken a picture of a plane-themed cake months ago, and submit that.

Then again, how many people make plane-themed cakes and take pictures of them being made for no reason?

Indeed it was a pesky typo!

I saw it and got on them and it should be fixed :)

Also, anyone is more than welcome to send me cake. I love cake.

Oh dang sorry, we dipped into the prize pool from 2035. You're right, there is no such thing as the Nvidia 7620 in this time period. We've corrected it, it's the Nvidia GTX 760.

Wow, no cakes yet? This could be an easy GTX for me... muahahaha! JK

I will however start considering an aircraft... wish I could pick my favourite - the Lancaster. =8o) Though I suppose I still could, it just would fall down in the judging.

A number of good cakes use things that are not "cake". I would imagine that if the majority component is cake, the extras which are not cake will be fine.

I did a Tinker Bell figure sitting on a log birthday cake before, for my daughter - the log (and base) were cake and the Tinker Bell figure was a rice treat mix with a frosting coating. It turned out to be a bit heavier than planned, but the look on my daughters face was worth it. :)

Here's my entry to the contest.  A Spitfire made with chocolate cake, decorated with chocolate ganache and royal icing.  The fuselage is filled with raspberry sauce.

Kudos to all my fellow bakers as this was another HARD contest! LOL

Bake a cake, how bad can it be, right?  Just round cakes right?  Thanks to Wargaming for hosting the contest and Happy SWEET 16!!!

I chose the German Kampfflugplatte Sleipnir (Gunlion gave me the OK earlier in the week that it would be considered an "existing WOWP plane")

I used a cinnamon stick and rice noodles for the laser cannon, chocolate chips for the windows, and homemade butter cream icing -- the wife gave it a thumbs up, so at least it tastes good!

Wow, some great entries! Nice Sleipnir +invictus97.

Here's my attempt at the British Mosquito.

Please find my images in my submission gallery on imgur: Link to my album.
Products in the cake and meta-technique are included in the last image of the cake - not in the last three bonus images. ;)

Edit: oh heck, here's three images, but please - see the album, it really tells the story better.
