Nice one.

Too bad we are lacking the primary plane used by the US Navy during the Turkey Shoot, most of the combat on the US side was done in F6F Hellcats.

Yes, you are correct.

Wikipeda

Block Quote

The Battle of Leyte Gulf, also called the Battles for Leyte Gulf, and formerly known as the Second Battle of the Philippine Sea, is generally considered to be the largest naval battle of World War II

Strategically it is all one action, with many mini battles. Basically Fleet Admiral Halsey left his flank open chasing a decoy fleet and the Japanese took advantage of Halsey's recklessness. They didn't call him "Bull" Halsey for nothing.  If it wasn’t for the bravery of DE’s, CVE’s, and Japanese command confusion, the Philippine Invasion would have been in great danger. It was a calculated risk that was upheld by Halsey’s luck.

I show 7:21 AM here (EDT) but no X3 experience. No sale prices on the planes either.

Not to mention Japanese aircraft. The D4Y Suisei dive bomber made its combat debut in this battle. =(

My guess is that it is a cache issue - if you click on one and buy it right now, it will show you the adjusted price in the screen pop-up after the sale.  I bought the A6M5 yesterday even though it showed full price but only got charged the 70% price.

Do that with the A6M2 (since it is cheaper) to verify this - if it is, then buy the big boy. :)

The game's largest rammer magnet - I always seem to attract enemy planes to my engine.
