WG, please do not implement this new reticle system.  It actually made it much more difficult to hit and it did not accurately portray the ranges.... IF you go through with this, please for all that is holy, give us a legacy setting checkbox!

I flew with it for about 20 matches. This thing is awful for those of us that are used to the other one.. the reticle is small , then gets bigger then even bigger.. its just a distraction for me, I don't even pay attention to it anymore since its not even that all accurate either.

I suggest a legacy mode. I am not sure why they are spending time on a reticle :\

This should potentially help with that issue, Joe. Let us know how the new aiming lead feels! Are your shots hitting where they should?

Sadly it does not make the broken cross-hair work. And the new indicator has way to much going on with it. It has so many changing points it becomes a distraction. The cross in the lead circle only appears for a split second and throws me off every time it becomes more pronounced then not. Everything blends and mashes together with everything being one color titles, bars, lead indicator.

In closed beta pre 3.2 there was orange boxes (small ones) and a orange lead. Taking that out of the game was a huge mistake, it only needed to be calibrated for the highest caliber weapon not by the most equipped like it was. You(WG) did that very thing in open beta for the current red indicator . Now your having to tackle a problem that once did not exist. Everyone knew what direction the enemy was going because they could see the direction of travel via the box that was attached to the plane.

George, I feel you want this game to be more of a sim which will drive new players away. As I said in my previous post this really doesn't add any additional information for experienced players with the possible exception of the all weapons being in effective range which I feel is good.

Nope, don't want a sim. If I wanted that, I would go play Aces High II (I do play that occasionally).

I understand there is a lot of frustration from newer players about trying to get kills, but step up to around tier 6, and you'll start to see complaints about evasion, which is very difficult now.

Cheers!
Glenn

Correction: the parallax error aim bug is still there.  It's easy to confirm by flying level and shooting at a ground target like a transport ship.  Note the very high number of bullets striking the water.
A deeper understanding of the difference between a fad and a fashion statement will enable you to win a fashion fueled guessing game.

I'm going to say I still stand by what I said after more battles with it, distracting and not as effective. If you wish to implement it fine as there are some who prefer it, but definitely give it as an option to use the current as is aim lead system that I've seen and used since 1.0/1 through 1.3 instead of this new one.

The 4 stage lead compensation system is not necessary.  Stage 3 and 4, and possibly stage 2, I can see implementing.  All four is adding complexity to a process that needs to be simple.

I found that the stage one indicator to be a distraction than providing useful information.

This lead-point, if kept, NEEDS to be limited to up to tier 4. This much information is simply too much once people get to know what they're doing. Let me explain.

<Snipped for brevity>

PLEASE GET RID OF THIS OR LIMIT IT TO TIER 4 MAX!

Cheers!
Glenn

I would rather keep the lead indicators the way they are. It's not the lead indicator that is the issue. It's the crosshairs being off from where the guns are firing.

This......

This is how my hud is set up although it does not show the lead indicator it is a circle that is black and white much like the cross hair from what ive seen on the test server mods don't work on the new lead indicator I would hope WG would implement a legacy version for this, And on a side note on the device circles bottom mod you see in the pic does not work again on the TC took me a couple of weeks to get it back last time they changed things around and I have to admit of all the mods I run this is the most important to me because I like the speed and alt indicator at the bottom just seem less cluttered to me...

That sounds great, but I have not noticed it yet while playing on CT 1.4

In fact, I have been at point blank range and missed planes in a fighter. It is like I was shooting blanks at them.

I have not noticed the crosshairs.

it would be a reasonable conclusion that not all of the planes have been given this feature yet, and some teams have it better than others.
