Matchmaker 2.0 is implemented for testing in the 1.4 Public Test! This update to the Matchmaker allows for better balancing on the number of flights per team, flexible algorithms in selecting the types and tiers of planes on both teams in battle, and a reduced chance of matching lower-tiered planes against higher-tiered planes several times in a row. After testing the new matchmaker, we'd like to get your feedback on the above poll questions.

It's almost impossible to say.  Especially with the gold not being dispensed for wins, the test server population is very low (84 online and 16 queue at the moment).  You're a lot more likely to wind up with 1v1 matches and such.
A deeper understanding of the difference between a fad and a fashion statement will enable you to win a fashion fueled guessing game.

The testing, feedback, and tweak cycle for any Matchmaker changes really must take place on public servers.

 

This is something that needs to start now and never stop. If this was happening since the beginning this game would have orders of magnitude more players.

 

Testing MM on the test server should go no further than making sure it works at all because any feedback is unrealistic unless you can get as many people testing as player, which is not possible.

 

I am looking forward to possibly playing again if the MM is fixed.

So far I ran the game in SD mode it looks and works cool , however the gold is not being rewarded and I am unable try any of the new premium planes :sad: . I do like the new opening battle scene an lead indicator . I am downloading the HD version now to see how that works . The only way to progress in the test server is to play with a friend on opposite sides and take turns killing each other . Unfortunately The EU account is the only way I can play because wargaming wont recognize my only active account in NA , I just dont understand why that cant be fixed , I have to start a new account every-time a new test comes out , Its is so frustrating . OH yes I have had several tickets asking them to fix it , but its the generic answer of please submit your life history and all you financials so we might better be able to investigate and remedy it ...

So far, can't tell a whole lot of difference between the old MM and the new one. Probably because of the low population on the test server? There are still three-tier matches while now and then, a two-tier match is seen. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for that, just random.

As far as balancing flights, cannot comment because thus far, there have been no flights seen.

Can't see any difference whatsoever...

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...

Yeppers.  I haven't seen a match yet with more than 6 players on each team.  Most of my matches have been 1-3 per side.  You guys need to do something to entice people to play the CT if you want to get useful data.

Max seems to be around 380 people...why is it that the first test server (for 1.1 I think) was chock full that it required queuing up...?

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...

Folks , I am very pleased with this beta test edition of WoWP. Been flying since day one and enjoy the differences. I do however wish the que times were less.. waiting sometimes several minutes to match players.. I Know with players being more skilled than others its near impossible to match perfect.. my advice would be to match by tier only. Players need to adjust their planes and flight for their own style. thanks for the wonderful work you have done so far and intend to do later.. Awesome Game !!

Just an opinion.  XP (probably at twice the rate) should be given for play in the beta server as well as extra premium days.  

 

There should be a line out of the door to play on the beta server.  The devs could just the most active and/or best players to give some solid feedback on the game.  Feedback from solid players will only improve the game.  That translates into more players and hopefully more paying subscribers.  

 

Sure, there's a curiosity about new features.  But the time I spend on a beta server takes away from me improving the attributes of my existing roster of pilots as well as improving my actual in game stats.  I'd be thrilled to participate as a beta tester for 1.5 or the next roll out, but it is some work and it is work that no one is being paid for or compensated for.  

Perhaps WOWP should reconsider how it betas.  The better the testers the better the results of the beta.  There is value there.  Use it.
