I give up on this plane. Even when I try to stay high etc, still cannot do a doG damned thing with it.

Just had 3 matches with it, all 3 were losses.

I F/n hate this plane now.

Then sell it and move on; possibly to a different line entirely as everything above the 109B has the same strengths and faults, generally speaking.

What are you doing well in?

Edit: Curious about results in other lines.

Best way is to look at my stats.

I am only sucking in the 109 B currently. My other tier 4, which is the I-17 is doing better. My tier 4 HFs are back and forth but not frustrating me as bad as the 109 B is now. It seems no matter what I try, no matter what config I try with it as in guns or lack there of, I still struggle getting kills.

That 64% win rate was from dog fighting with it. I never bnzed with it til now.

Now, I do better at tier 2 unfortunately. My xvm rating at tier 2 to 4 is 4.0 whereas at tier 5 it's 3.2 & at tier 6, it's 2.7. So the higher the tier I fight, the worse it gets.

By the way, before the game went live, I was #4 overall in the 109 B for a bit. Strictly from dogfighting.

I sold the 109 & bought the He 112 and the very first match gave me 3 kills. It was it's 7th loss, but still got more kills than the 109 has gotten me since a few patches ago.

I was actually about to suggest that you give the Heinkel a whirl and see how it works for you.  I have one parked right next to my 109 Bruno and love 'em both.

Then again, there's few tier IV's I dislike.  (Bsh-2, I'm looking at you. )

Good hunting!  :honoring:

My he 112 has had 10 straight losses over several months. So this BS about taking a break is a fallacy.

Ever since I got my wr to a true 60%, it's been a huge struggle to get it back there again.

There are some planes that will just Haunt you. Because of Tier, Team Skill at that Level, etc etc. At the end of the day Sandman if the plane is not doing it for you, then perhaps it is best to move onto something that is more suited for your  play style. Even myself I have those oddities. The 109 B I do great in, the 109E not so much, and then when back to the F and G I am fantastic in those. One plane glitch in an otherwise solid lineup.

I play the 109B myself as Primarily a Heavy Hunter. Since it can perform at altitude I spend the first 2-3 kills of a match killing the big guns, since at the end of the day those are the bigger threat to myself and my team mates.

Perhaps it is target priority that you could attempt to improve on. It is never a matter of 1 v 1 combat, rather you have to make the decisions that will in the end be the most benifical for your battle mates.

A good example of a round in a 109 is this one. Just a Random match but it shows the planes true form.

That is what I have tried to do as of late. Go after the high fliers first. But it hasn't been working well for me.

To go from a 4th place overall to 29th overall is bad. I am seeing other 109 Bs turn fight with ease & yet it fails whenever I try it now, even though that is what I used to always do & that is how I got to that 4th position.

Flighting up with others does not mean that you personally will perform better nor does it mean wins. People act as if that means you WILL win and WILL perform better when it is a fallacy.

It matters not what armament I try, I struggle to get kills with it now. It is a shell of it's former self to me. My matches in it were gaining on the number of air kills in it which is bad.

Why are we still going on about this?

Resolution was found, the 109B doesn't work for Sandman anymore and likely won't work for him again.

Moving on...let this thread die.

there are no planes in this game you can't succeed in if you are patient....some people even do well in the 190V which has been an absolute turkey for me

Really?

Been flying that plane since closed beta and after game went live, I got in 341 battles with it. Think that was patience enough considering I did fine with it until a few patches or so ago.

I was 4th overall in it in closed beta for a period of time.

That depends on your definition of success.

If I wanted a very high W/R and KDR, for instance, I would never touch IJN aircraft.

Well, I decided to try this plane again after a few patches.

2 matches 2 losses, minimal damage.

I do better in my 109 E/F.

So I re-sold it and will never re-buy it, ever.

I used to love that plane too.
