Registration Information

Teams must be submitted for approval to participate in the Tanks and Planes Cross Over Event.

Match Information

Tanks

  • All battles will take place via Special Battles

Planes

  • Battles will take place in Training Rooms
  • The winning team captain is required to report the winning team for each battle.

HOME Team and Training Rooms (Planes Only)

The HOME team is the team on the top of the schedule bracket. They are responsible for creating the training room and starting the battle.

Training Room

  • The HOME team needs to create the training room 5 min prior to the scheduled match for the Group Stages and 15 minutes prior to the scheduled match for the Playoff rounds.
  • The HOME team captain should ensure all settings are correct: map, battle time of 10 minutes, correct tier settings.
  • The HOME team captain needs to inform the AWAY captain of the room’s creation immediately after the training room is created. Invites need to be sent out to all members of both teams immediately after the training room is created.

Starting the Match

  • The HOME team starts on Side 1 for the first battle. For playoffs, the side switches after each battle.
  • Once all players have entered the training room, the HOME captain moves players from both teams onto the proper side.
  • The AWAY captain will tell the HOME captain which players to move from reserve to the active window. Once a player has been moved to active, that player is required to participate in the battle, with the tank/plane that was selected.
  • ONCE MOVED FROM RESERVE, A PLAYER IS NOT ALLOWED TO SWITCH OUT OR SELECT A DIFFERENT PLANE/TANK
  • Between matches, all players should start in the reserve window. Captains are allowed to switch players between rounds, as long as they are not in the active window.
  • Once both teams are ready and on the correct side, the AWAY captain will give the go to the HOME captain to start the battle.

Problems with Training Room Creation

  • If the HOME captain has created the room and informed the AWAY captain, and the AWAY captain is not ready by the required time:
    • HOME captain takes screen shot of the time s/he informed the AWAY captain of the rooms creating and screen shot of all HOME players readied up in the training room
    • Screen shots sent to WoWPtournaments@wargaming.net, following the dispute procedure
  • If the HOME captain has NOT created the room and/or informed the AWAY captain that one is created by the battle time:
    • AWAY captain needs to attempt to contact the HOME captain
    • Take a screen shot of the chat box and send it to WoWPtournaments@wargaming.net, following the dispute procedure

Reporting Match Wins (Planes Only)

  • At the end of each battle, BOTH team captains are required to take a screen shot of the end of battle screens.
  • The team captain that won overall needs to send an email to WoWPtournaments@wargaming.net. The email must include the following:
    • Names of both teams involved in the round
    • Final scores (e.g. Lemming won, 2-0)
    • Screen shots of after battle reports for each match
  • Failure to report the scores will cause the team to be declared disqualified; the team will not collect any points or move forward in the tournament.
  • Failure to follow this template will cause your scores to not be counted.

Disputes (Tanks and Planes)

Disputes that do not fall under the following guidelines or fail to include the following information will be immediately disregarded by tournament staff.

  • Disputes may be filed for the following reasons: unsportsmanlike conduct (profanity, vulgar acts or statements, team or personal insults, etc.), racism, disrespect of an official/streamer/caster, violation of general or specific tournament rules.
  • Disputes must be emailed to WoWPtournaments@wargaming.net
  • The email subject/title must include the name of the event followed by the world “Dispute”
  • Disputes may only be filed by the team captain.
  • Disputes are due on the same day as the battle in question.
  • A resolution will be communicated with both involved team captains prior to the start of the following round.
  • Publicizing disputes, prior to their resolution, is subject to penalties including, but not limited to:
    • Disregarding the dispute
    • Immediate team disqualification
    • Removal of offending player from the event

Disputes must include the following format or they will be discounted:

  • In-game name of the player submitting the dispute.
  • Name of the tournament the team is participating in.
  • Names of both teams involved in the round.
  • Reason for the dispute.
  • A replay or screenshots of the match(es) in question.

I'm glad to see another tournament I just wish it was a pure planes tournament since the last one we had was a crossover.

Nice to see another Cross 0ver.

I actually like the utility World of Tanks players bring into World of Warplanes. Hence the tournament name, of course.

l'd like to wish everyone luck and fortune.

I love both WOT and WOWP, however, the only people who really have a shot at this are the WOT clans who have or can recruit pilots. There are no teams in WOWP and trying to put one together with non-clan/public people who have both games is going to be VERY difficult for most - not to mention the event itself is WAY too complicated - especially for new WOWP players.. This would have been a great promotion if it was held AFTER the WOWP Clans have been introduced.

The organizational overhead of training rooms really hurts.   It push's the event over the 'too much hassle' threshold, for the regular tanks tourney teams.    I think once they get battles to pop as special battles, like in tanks, there will be a lot more players.

As a regular tourney player, I would like to play this one.....but we don't have time for all the tanks tourneys that already exist.   Combine that with the extra overhead, and I don't get any traction when I try to get my team in on this.

Now, if there were

- an xp reward in each game, like that 55k xp event i missed a couple of weekends ago
- much bigger gold prizes
- a special premium in each game (maybe one of those 'airborn' light tanks, and a tank busting GA?)
- hardware like laptops

i am sure it would get more attention.  Granted, given the small player base of planes, this might be seen as too much of a giveaway to the top planes players who are probably impossible to beat.

I see this as mostly a problem of how to get more tanks players to play planes.  So, these tourneys are competing with tanks tourneys.   I also think people assume they really have no chance to win, given the steep skill curve in planes.  So, they don't bother trying.   Perhaps if there were decent rewards for those who came in the top 50%, or 25% of teams, it would get more traction?
While on that note, a question, how much diversity has there been in the winners of past planes tourneys.   How many people have competed?  What about the past crossover tourney?   Were there 20 people even trying, or 500?   Knowing details like that might help get more people involved.

having to create training rooms hunt up your opponent report results is such a hassle.

been thru this one time with a nvidia tournament. did not like it at all.

wowp need to be upgraded before tournaments like this will be enjoyable.

as previous post stated they should wait till they have clans in wowp, and should have capability to have battles pop like they do in wot.

the actual wowp battles will be the easy part, the getting rooms made hunting opponents reporting results... hell anyone that can even do that correctly deserves gold imho... or part of the devs paycheck since they are doing their job :/

Good luck fielding for the WOWP side, it's a very poor game.

LOL Haven't seen any real problems getting teams together in the previous 2 cross over events so there shouldn't be any problem getting teams together in this one.

If you don't want to join a team then don't, no one is forcing you to join the event.

I pretty much have the same opinion of Tanks...  But I realize that it is because my knowledge of how to play and my experience of how to play is very poor.  Much like your Planes performance.  Don't blame the game.  If its not fun don't play.  If it is fun then learn the tactics needed and enjoy.  I have fun playing Tanks I just lack a lot of the tactics needed to be successful.  I will work on this and in time my opinion will change.....

Coming in here and making such a blank statement is simply TROLLISH!!!!!!

i do play wowp and would like to see it promoted.

personally i feel should be a better way than this style tournament.

last year the event where you play 'x' amount of games and got gold on wowp and wot for completing was a decent idea imho.

something similar to that event would interest me.

maybe something like 10,000 exp = 100 gold? (would cure the law dart exploits used in the 'games played' last year)

just for 5 days or a weekend...

sadly this is a non event for 90% of aussies a bit like the whole sharing of the xp thing a wast of time for us as things do not carie from 1 server to another. How ever the over all set up is a great idea, it is just pity there are so many who will not play wowp because the ping is crap and there are many who wont play unless it hits the sea server with the same setup as the NA server. would love to see it happen but sadly non of us are counting on it

Team mode Warplane battles are so much more tempting than team mode Tank battles... Because if there's one thing that public matches in WoWP lacks it's coordination. Lol :D

It's a shame a new game can't have a tournament just for itself, has to bring big brother along with it(WoT).
