The upgrade on rear gun says 22 dam/sec and the first gun says a decrease from 42 dam/sec.   Is this a type-o or does the upgrade only do 22dam/sec? Or is it per gun since there are 4 in the upgrade

I believe this per gun. Someone will correct if I'm wrong.

Same thing happens with the Blennie's twin gun - I believe it is per-gun, but because it doesn't say that, it is quite confusing. They really should just report DPS for the turret as a whole.

I never said I was good.

USA needs GA too.

pretty sure it is per gun. i believe it's the same with all weapons whether they are cowl, wing or pod mounted.

Getting the Beaufighter rear gun is really important. It is a quad cal first of all, the damage/mass listed is actually 22x4, not 22, for the unit. Remember this for all planes, defensive guns are multiplied by number of guns listed.

Getting back to the important part though, the Beaufighter has a unique property with it's defensive gun turret upgrades. Compared to stock gun position, the elite gun defender changes the fuselage layout, giving the gun defender a wider angle of fire compared to the first gun window. Although l am sure it adds more drag, it does not seem to subtract from listed game performance, and is definitely more of a danger to pursuers.

It decreases speed, but due to its position, it actually adds to the plane's maneuverability.

-5 airspeed +1 maneuverability to be exact.

the turret is 360 degrees firing arc though right? would love to have that kind of forward firing firepower!! just what beaufighter needs

I don't believe so - turrets, despite many in-game havine a 360 degree turning capability, tend to have a very limited arc of fire. This is used for balance, and to allow planes to attak it from alternative angles without being shredded. The fire angles are not posted in the game however, so I cannot be sure of how broad the Beau's defensive arc is, but I can assure you it won't fire forward.

I never said I was good.

USA needs GA too.

Same for twin-gun on the TSh-2, two guns doing 18 dmg/sec is still better than 1 doing 30.
