It may be because you are working in RGBa (digital) rather than CYM (print) formats. If you're working in RGBA, when you send it to print, the printer uses CYM, so you won't be the same on paper. To check this, most digital art programs have a feature that lets you see what your project will look like in print. If you know ahead of time that you'll be printing, I would strongly suggest working in print format to avoid any headaches.
