Eric Carter, sometime in 2012, got to fly a Spitfire again, some 70 years after flying them in defense of Russia, c. 1941-2. Apparently, Britain cared more about his safety than the then Luftwaffe did... more an insult to a war hero. Luckily, they had a dual seated Spit that they were allowed take him up in, and let him fly.

Amazing article.  That really is cool.  Like riding a bike huh.

I mean, I had fast motor cars and fast motor bikes, and when I wasn't crashing airplanes, I was crashing motor bikes. It's all part of the game.

Actually, flying is much like driving, once you're competent and have been doing it a while, it becomes just like another task of the day.

Flying is easy, it's the landings and takeoffs that kill you.

That's some fancy flying.  We have a airport at our golf course.  I always like watching the planes take off on the grass runway.

I mean, I had fast motor cars and fast motor bikes, and when I wasn't crashing airplanes, I was crashing motor bikes. It's all part of the game.
