So as a heavy equipment operator for 35 years I am going to throw something out for you folks to ponder.

Would you play a game like wot's that involved just heavy construction equipment?

Cats are similar to tanks, you would do tiers like wowp and wot and start out at the smallest machine, say a d3 caterpiilar or a mini hoe.

As you progress to a d11 or huge tracked excavator you smash down buildings for points or push adversaries over a cliff.

If I had the coin to fund some game devs I would as I know thousands of rednecks would love it!

Anyone remember redneck rampage?

Thoughts? Would you play it?

Just try envision walking a 350 hitachi tracked excavator walking down a road,to do some damage to an enemy town and he meets a John Deere 450 coming at him on the same road, the booms and sticks go up,one has a claw! They battle untill the winner rips off a hydraulic line and pushes his foe off into the trees.

Meanwhile 2 d9's are trying desperately to push a d10 off a cliff.

While my dad would love this, unless they have armor plating and machine guns on them I doubt I would enjoy it. I suppose you could take the shovel off the excavator and put a cannon their instead. Put 50 Cal machine guns on either side of the 450. And as long as the D9's are the military style with protective bars and armor plates then I'm more then happy to go push someone off a cliff with it.

The wrecking ball would be tier 8 or higher so you could golf bulldozers off the ground.

Fore!

I run big excavators but battling another one head on would be tres cool!

I have had many head on pushing contests with d 10's also.

And d9's sneaking up on me on nightshift with their lights off and trying to push my d10 close to the edge.

It would make a cool game for sure, maybe have a battle mode and a building mode, when the building mode turns south the battle begins.

Can we have the Terex 6300AC as a tier ten!! Just roll right over anybody.

The D11 could be a Tier 10 or 9 as well.

And for a good Tier 1 perhaps the Cat 259D

This reminds me of an episode of Malcolm in the Middle when Hal rents a steamroller to get all his frustrations out by smashing anything and everything.

I ran the Leternou 2350 back in the 90's,that would be top tier at worlds largest loader at the time.

Diesel electric with a 16 cylinder cummins in it and would do 0 to 8 mph in about a second and a half.

Load a 785 cat truck in 4 scoops,capable of hoisting a 80 tonne rock.

The rock chains on the front tires cost $80,000 a side.

You could run over a 5 ton service truck and not even feel it.

Lots of youtube vids on the letornou,it is a beast, mine had a hydraulic ladder to just get on the first deck. When I left the mine they only had 798 250 tonne cat trucks and it would load them in 5 scoops, under a minute per load. It runs over 4160 volts to the electric wheel motors.

My tier I Bobcat is underpowered. I'm leaving this game, no support for twin joystick. Going to play DozerThunder.

Everyone rants, why would I be less?

Could have a hot-potato like game for the smaller faster machines as well.  Ticking time-bomb that you want to get rid of quick.  Make multi-tier more interesting for the smaller guys : )

If you see a little bomb loaded guy coming at you, you can either try to destroy them or scoop them up so the blast happens in your bucket...if they plant it under a wheel or track though...

This might work...if you took out the combat and just left the digging.  I mean, people play Minecraft afterall......

All the Important Thread Links (go here for answers!) Might be outdated!
