I know this has probably been asked before, but how do you take a file from, say, Hawkeye's SkyDrive, and put it into WoWP?

You can inject them in using WinRAR 3.51, the only one I know that compresses it properly...

Or you can make a res_mods folder, and edit your paths.xml file to direct to res_mods.

The paths.xml file should look something like this:

    res_mods
    res/packages/shared_content.pkg
    res/packages/misc.pkg
    res/packages/destructible_objects.pkg
    res/packages/gui.pkg
    res/packages/vehicles_airplanes_american.pkg
    res/packages/vehicles_airplanes_german.pkg
    res/packages/vehicles_airplanes_russian.pkg
    res/packages/vehicles_airplanes_japan.pkg
    res/packages/vehicles_airplanes_england.pkg
    res/packages/airplanes_common.pkg
    res/packages/shaders.pkg
    res/packages/00_01_hangar_base.pkg
    res/packages/00_02_hangar_premium.pkg
    res/packages/02_el_hallouf.pkg
    res/packages/03_pacific.pkg
    res/packages/04_yosemite.pkg
    res/packages/05_lighthouse.pkg
    res/packages/06_tutorial.pkg
    res/packages/07_san_francisco.pkg
    res/packages/08_burma.pkg
    res/packages/09_greenland.pkg
    res/packages/10_stalingrad.pkg
    res/packages/11_arizona.pkg
    res/packages/12_fjords.pkg
    res/packages/13_harbor.pkg
    res/packages/14_adriatic.pkg
    res/packages/16_fortress.pkg
    res
    res_bw

All of my skins are set up with a res_mods folder so if it is one of mine all you need to do is drop it into your WoWP directory, even includes an edited paths xml file.

Total Commander also works for installing mods directly into the package files, been using it for over a year now myself with no issues at all. Just remember if you go this route, back-up any files before you overwrite them, just in case.

Not sure about Windows 8, I special ordered my new PC last year with Windows 7.  But in Win7, on my pc anyway, it is located at C:\Games\World_of_Warplanes hope this at least helps point you the right direction.

If it is in a res_mods folder just drop it in and let it overwrite the paths xml file, just make sure you have the paths xml file backed up first.
