First warplane based game?  Probably Combat on the Atari 2600

First warplane simulator?  EIther Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe or MS Flight Sim 3 for regular planes.

Spent a number of years after that playing Fleet Defender.

I had just completed building my first PC, yes I found the parts, assembled it, loaded up DOS from a floppy 5 1/4 floppy disk.

1st Warplane Sim - Spectrum Holobyte's Falcon 1988 or 89, followed by Aces over the Pacific and Aces over Europe

1st Chopper Sim - Microprose's Gunship

1st Tank Sim - Microprose's M1 Tank Platoon 89 or 90

Built a new PC to run Dos 3.0 and above.

1st Space Sim - X-Wing 93 or so

1st Mech Sim - MechWarrior DOS, 89 90 I think

1st Submarine Sim - Red Storm Rising

DICTA BOELCKE for WoWP
    1. Try to secure the upper hand before attacking.
    2. Always continue with an attack you have begun
    3. Open fire only at close range, and then only when the opponent is squarely in your sights
    4. You should always try to keep your eye on your opponent, and never let yourself be deceived by ruses
    5. In any type of attack, it is essential to assail your opponent from behind
    6. If your opponent dives on you, do not try run away from his attack, but fly to meet it
    7. When over the enemy's lines, always remember your own line of retreat
    8. It is better to attack in groups of four or six. Avoid two aircraft attacking the same opponent

Sublogic flight simulator 1.0 on buddy's apple ][, then MS flight sim 1.0 (they purchased from Bruce Artwick's company) on our IBM PC, there was a biplane and this battle map I recall playing via CGA connected to my 14" Toshiba TV.  Also the Atari arcade cabinet Red Baron.  Battlezone obviously would be the WOT equivalent.

Wait...maybe Intellivision's Triple Action was my first..it's all a blur at this point:

I sometimes think that's how a lot of players learned to fly.

AC 5 was bland to me. Pathetic enemies, ridiculously bad aces (not a single ace squadron in any AC game I've played is worse than Grabacr and Ofnir), pathetic missiles, low difficulty in general, most characters (mainly Nagase), etc. Everything seemed bland there. ACZ had a classy story with Spanish guitar though, plus the ace squadrons are rather frequent to come by, so it's not that dull after all.

Ok I'll stop being a critic. Not like AC 2 was hard too. :|

Still, our teammates there arent as retarded as in AC:AH.. They do what we told them to..

their storyline and plane selection was their main 'advantage'..

Oh well, may i replace the word AC:AH with WoWP? LOL

AH cannot be compared to anything except rail shooters. If it weren't for Ace Combat Advance, I'd consider it the worst AC game.

Even its graphic is horrible for a laggy games for my PC.

Even WoWP can runs better with max setting than AH with medium setting here..

And WoWP still looks much better with max setting on both games.
