Nice.  Aces of the Pacific for me.

Played Fighter Ace for many more years than was healthy (went to convention in Vegas even); started when it was free on the MSN Zone,  (that and Crimson Skies which became one of the first gen Xbox games). Never considered the side/top scrollers real flight games (reminded me of the old handheld Bandai games, yes I'm that old ) but I did play most or all in the arcade, if they had it.

(need to get all the old FA players together somehow..............)

MS gaming zone "Fighter Ace"

That was my first multiplayer fighting game.

But for me it was MicroProse "Jump Jet"

Top Gun on Nintendo. It's actually very awesome for the platform it was based on, with air refueling and so on.

F-19 on the PC was around the same time too. Also a very nice game, although the capabilities of the F-117 was greatly exaggerated. I used to circle around central Europe and shoot down MiGs with my guns as they take off. Getting something like 20 kills in one sortie.

Also,  since I have yet to make this work.... is there a place where the former FA bunch hangs out within WOW?  I miss some of the [edited]sessions between flights!
